Has anyone here submitted to PSA? Iām tempted with a few of my pc books just to try them out.
I have. Only once though. I was going to thisnyesr, but held off due to all the drama on the cards side of things.
I would say that their casings are more heavy and more shiny. I like them.
Just waiting for the drama to cool down or get solved before I send some off again.

Can CBCS slabs still be verified on their site? I have a Strange Academy 1A that is popping up as an invalid certificate number, even when I scan the QR code.
I can check some of mine in the morning
When they made the move to Texas, somehow they lost a sets of data.
I have a few slabs that donāt come up. All mine that are this version of slab (with the -AA-) do not come up. I noticed this when I went to reholder them and the cert number would not come upā¦
I think these are in the 2018 time frameā¦.strange academy was 2020, so that does seem a bit later so likely not this -AA- slabā¦but still possible they lost that data too.

Looking for some opinions.
I have a Hulk 181 CBCS 6.0 (Universal blue label). I think the grade is accurate, and itās a great quality case. This was my (attainable) grail and if I had to sell everything, itād be the one book I keep. Iāve made it clear to my family that should something happen to me, my graded books need to be taken seriously.
While I have no intention of selling it anytime soon, we all know things can happen. And while Iāve been disappointed and critical of CGCās handling of the past couple years of scandals and questionable practices, we all know CGC slabs sell for the best price.
Do I take the plunge and crossover my CBCS Hulk 181 to a CGC?
- Iām not in a hurry, because again, I plan to keep long-termābut the cost to re-grade is only going to increase over time.
- Is CGC still banana bending books? I gave up on them when Labelgate hit and then the spine-bending inner well crap began. I know a 6.0 is not super precious, but I still donāt want damage inflicted on the book BY the grader.
Thoughts/insights?
I think the banana issue was primarily modern books. And really it just created a slight spine tick or two along the spine.
Given your book is mid grade and not modern, I doubt it would be an issue unless you made it an issue.
I havenāt heard much banana talk lately. They may have covertly addressed the issue. Iāll be sending in some magazines/large comics at CGC. Thereās a $29 off premium membership sale until 10/10, so going to grab that and drop them off at NYCC.
That being said, Iām not submitting any 9.8 candidates for the pc until I know the issue is fixed.

Details are sketchy. Fed Ex Guy leaves the truck unattended for 60-90 minutes. I think FedEx policy is a max of 30 minutes. Got people screaming inside jobā¦but my guess is this worker likely routinely takes long breaks and someone knew of this behavior and took advantage. Also was a Tuesday after a holiday weekend and the truck likely had a weekend plus an extra days worth of shipment going out. Thief/thieves knew what they were doing.

Not on PSA property I believe. And to PSAās behalf once they are in FedExās hands they are not their problem. But from a business stance the answer is āwe are working with FedEx to get this resolvedā not āwelp, not our problemā.
But certainly looks like an inside job. They knew what was being carried. PSA needs to step up and invalidate the serial numbers until they are recovered or at least release a list of the cards and serial numbers that were stolen (or at least shipped out)
I believe the invalidated the numbers. Hereās a list. Last I knew they had refunded grading fees, and are likely going to to compensate the owners further with fair market value of what was lostā¦however some of these are irreplaceable (1 of 1s). I think people have the option of buying it back for the same price it was compensated for if found.
If so, PSA will go after Fed Ex to recoup losses. They have to make sure their customers are taken care of first as that will take a while to sort out.

If theyāre grading consistently, break them out and get them graded again, theyāll all come back with the same grade and new issued number right? 
The one of ones will be quickly identifiedā¦and then youāre screwed.
And Iām quite sure itās not hard to set up something that would quickly identity a single order or source that had just a few of the higher end cards submittedā¦.and then youād be busted as well.

yeah this isnt like comics, almost all these sports card and the valuable tcg cards stolen are serialized outside of their psa cert.
and there is no doubt psa has flagged every serial number, even the higher ones outside 1/1, 5s and 10 range.
if they were to return the submitter would be flagged immediately
its possible the thief could crack all the high number ones and move them raw at local shows and no one would know
but the 1/1sā¦those would have to be like stolen art and just remain hidden in some rich dudes basement vault for years upon years
