Dan Mora books

I thought of you when I posted that. Hoping I wasn’t ruining anything for you.

No way, ruin how? Knowledge is power. I hope the good people of CHU can find as many copies of that 1:15 as they can. That’s why I posted about it when I picked up some copies. Could be a big book down the line.

Back in stock. I tried checking out with 20 and it updated to 3 so that’s probably the available qty.

I finally sold a Batgirls 13 Mora. Got $85. I had two nice copies, but they just sat forever. I bet I sent out 15 offers for that book at $75-80 over the past month or two. No bites. Then sells for full price. OK.

I didn’t care for that cover…her hips way off.

Keeping a Nightwing 99…hoping to get it signed by Mora at some point.

Might be hard to find out in the wild.

This shall be known as the Dan Mora Brady Bunch cover.

I really think 75% of this Mora hype is market manipulation. I mean that cover is not great. He has been around since 2014 and all the sudden he is some god artist. I don’t have anything against the guy, it just smells fishy to me.

That is a terrible cover…

Probably why there are not a lot out there…

I don’t think it’s market manipulation. If it were there would be even more press than there is. It’s been more of a slow burn over the years that suddenly started popping. It’s like how Mark Spears was around for awhile then finally started exploding. Or to use a Hollywood example, Keanu Reeves was around for decades and suddenly really became huge.

And there’s a bit of an unknown overseas variable. I’ve sold a ton of Nightwing/robin/redhood outside of the US.

To each their own. I just know when I look at Mora’s covers, I don’t see anything better than most of the mainstream artist. I also don’t see much of any art difference in the hot books of his versus the many covers he has at cover price. It’s almost like Mora’s art has little to do with it at all. Rather, people are finding Mora books that are perceived to be scarce and taking advantage of FOMO. For example the above K.O cover. I can’t see any legitimate reason for people to desire that particular book at $20 over any other of his covers.

It is certainly a mystery. But one I have enjoyed being able to flip.

Yeah. Stop asking legitimate questions and making good points. Can’t you see we’re making money here.

Plot twist: Dan Mora has a friend in China he has paid to buy all his comics so that he can later have them shipped back to America and stockpile his work to create a paper-based fortress made out of his works. Like a tree fort, but all comics, and all comics by himself.

I wish his Power Rangers covers would heat up. I was culling out some drek spec from several long boxes and I noticed I had Power Rangers Unlimited Heir to Darkness 1 in the pile. MORA caught my eye near the bar code on the cover. Looked it up on eBay. Hasn’t moved an inch. I swear Power Rangers is the only fan base that hasn’t discovered comics yet. It’s like they are illiterate or something.
