What can we learn from this near miss?
That people suck?
I always like telling people who start crying about things not going their way with⊠âThis ainât Burger King, you canât have it your way!â
Well, you said âyouâ averted a crisis through your actions, so I figured you had something of value to pass along.
Had someone make a lowball offer on one of a card thing I had four of. I countered and they declined. Then they bought three at full price. I hope things work out.
I had more orders than usual the last week or two which coincided with snowstorms and am pleasantly surprised I have not gotten any of the impatient buyers opening cases yet. The post office cannot control the weather anymore than I can folks, weâre all doing our best haha
I sold a very expensive book that has a known printing flaw. Because the cover is so easily fingerprinted I did not remove it out of the bag and take a photo of the back cover. The buyer got it and hit me up saying there was an ink mark on the back. I said oh man I didnât pull it from the bag but there is a known flaw. He came back and said he had not heard about it. I sent him info found under a quick google search of the flaw. I waited. I waited. He came back and thanked me for the info (including it is not held against the grade) and left me positive feedback. I was clenched because I had already pulled the money from my eBay account.
It is color rub, well kind of. They mixed inks to get the black and there are ones with pinkish brown spots on it. This one had a spot.
That feeling, when one has sold a very very expensive book, you get notification itâs been delivered, you wait in âanticipationâ; and your ebay rating increments is partial euphoria.
I just got two overnight for the Felix Absolute book and another close to $1k book. And Iâm no longer a panickan today.
I am unclenched.
Is it just me, or does it feel like we have had more headaches selling in the first 5 weeks of 2026 than we usually have? People are getting wacky or something lately.
Yes. Yes it does seem that way. I know I have had several issues both on ebay and Mercari.
More sales begets more complaints and problems.
I think itâs more that than anything.
That is absolutely the thing, just a game of numbers.
So I have a guy on Mercari that offered me $18 for 2 $10 comics. But Mercari stacks the shipping to 2 lbs. I messaged the guy and said âhey, I will do a bundle for you, but the price will be $20 and $6.99 shipping instead of $18 and $11.99 shippingâ making the total sale $26.99 instead of $30. He saves $3.01. He agreed. I listed the bundle for him. And I have been waiting. He messaged me saying âyou havenât accepted my best offerâ I have told him to go into the listings and find the bundle with his user nameâ. Guy keeps arguing that I am not accepting his best offer.
Suspend the listing. Heâll find the other one. You can lead the horse to waterâŠbut they wonât drink it unless itâs of their own will. So take away the other water source because horses are dumb.

He hit me up and said he couldnât find it. Then said when he found it he wanted two comics but it only had pictures of one (it had both photos). Guy was an idiot. He ended up buying it but was ready to give up.
Sharing my ebay story as well. Buyer bought a slab and receives it. Then a day later starts a return with the reason that the person found it elsewhere cheaper.
My second story, if any of you sell statues, show the inside contents. Had a return of a new/ sealed statue where I made a mistake of not showing the contents. Buyer receives the item and opens a return immediately that arm parts were missing. Now Iâm stuck with a statue with no arms and cannot relist the incomplete item. I did deduct 40% of the return but covering back and forth shipping its just depressing as a seller.
So what you are saying is if I ever decide to sell my statues, open them up prior to listing them to make sure they are complete?
Isnât that the rist of opening up a closed statue after 10 yrs? It might not be complete and itâs a factory defect. That really sucksâŠ
