eBay Headaches

Oh yes, I’m not saying it’s horrible, it’s how I’ve got to this point in buying / selling, and you can always find some good deals on there. It just sucks with how many scammers there are, especially when it’s someone in a financial rut who gets taken advantage of…and there isn’t a lot the seller can do. 99% of my listings have been perfectly fine, but that 1% just angers me every time it happens.

So this is a new one. Someone asks me about my Wolverine 6 comics I had up, and I notice that prices are rising, and my listing was an old format…so I figured I would update the whole thing. I unpublish the listing, and then am editing the product in Shopify. I get a notification: “Congratulations, your items have sold!”… I unpublished it a good 5 minutes prior…so confused.

Welp, I have more of these in the bin so that’s fine, just weird ebay would let someone pay after the listing was unpublished… Anyone else have that happen?

I did have something like that happen once. I’m not 100% on this but maybe it locks in the price for a limited time if they put it in their cart or something

Thats what I was thinking, but even after I delist it, thats what got me confused. Oh well, they sold, I’m good.

I was just charged 30cents when someone cancelled a sale on me. Stuff like this makes me mad to use eBay. If someone cancels, I shouldn’t be charged- I don’t care what the reason. EBay said it was a 30cent transaction fee. I just put some stuff on Mercari for the first time. We’ll see how it goes. I know it’s just 30cents, but it might be enough for me to be done with eBay.

I agree man. I just looked at my fees from eBay for the last 30 days and it made me sick!

Got a couple more slabs from hotshotcomics… both came with newton rings for what it’s worth but it’s all good - they’re not terrible. I’m happy I got the books. :+1:

Two more slabs to go.

I put up about 20 books on Offer Up last week. Have one guy wanting to buy in bulk.
I hope I can get some sells. No shipping to deal with.
I keep seeing stuff on flipping forums that make me more leery of ebay. Heard a new one today-Don’t use a VPN ever on ebay, can get your account banned. Not that I ever have but I might by accident if I didnt know. If account is locked and buyer asks for refund, they get item and money back via ebay.

Last time I checked, Ebay had 22,000,000,000 listings. Seems like .30 isn’t a big deal. If I could scalp .05 from every user, and call it a f-u fee, or some other bullshit, then I would be happy.

That adds up very quickly. Same thing with eBay bucks. That 1% adds up so they did away with it. Now it’s a periodical 5% for 3 days.

Not all listings are 30 cents though. My old account I got up to 200 listings a month for free.

The real kicker is, they take their 10% from every damn sale.

Ten Percent?! It’s closer to 15% plus the .30 cent transaction fee.

Well, yeah, now that they manage all payments… but yes, minimum amount they’re gonna take is 10%…

Found this new trick to see the actual price paid for eBay items when an offer has been accepted on a listing.

All of a sudden first class is not an option for shipping. My weight is 12 oz… is this a glitch or did something change today with eBay policy?

I mailed out a 14oz first class package on 4/27.

I had a listing covert to priority mail. If I try to update any of my current listings that are first class, the shipping field is blank and I have to choose something not first class (not offered of revised).

Gotta be something wrong…I have no records/emails of first class being dropped.

@ToddW try revising or creating a listing, if you don’t mind…see what’s offered.
