Fu usps

Why did the recipient not accept the item? Did you require signature and they were never home or made a trip to the PO?

Took a left turn at Albuquerque, after trying to return home…

long story, but an ebay case where the buyer refused the delivery and tried saying I didn’t ship it. They didn’t know i had signature requested so now it’s coming back to me but it’s making one hell of a journey first

Dealing with a customer on eBay that I printed and shipped a label off eBay. The book shows as delivered. The problem is the zip code USPS shows they delivered it to is a different part of New York City. I can’t refund him the money minus the shipping due to him opening a case against me.

And while dealing with that this morning I get another message from another buyer in Wisconsin that said he lives is Hartford WI and the book was delivered to Slinger WI, two completely different parts of the state.

Sounds like USPS incompetence at it’s finest…

I forget who it was that says they shut down all eBay sales the month of December….

So did usps ship it to the wrong zip code, or did he/she have the wrong zip code for their address?

I find sometimes pirateship will “suggest” a zip code based on the street address/city entered…and it doesn’t necessarily match the one the buyer provided….

I do as well. I’m about to stop ending my listings too. Some have tons of watchers. They can wait until after the holidays if I relist them. Maybe I just take them to Half Price and be done with it as well.

That is a cool name for a town…

“I come from a little place called ‘Slinger’……”

What kind of deal do they give on comics? If I brought in a comic that has a $3.99 cover price, what is the expectation (on average)?

I got a lot of comics that I’d like to get rid of….but that are NM/NM+ (modern stuff off the rack) that I’m considering letting go just to be rid of it…but don’t want to take the time to list/ship for $1-$2.

Local antique/used book stores likely will only give me 10-25 cents a book. Not sure setting up at a small show or Con is worth the effort time/expense either as even priced at $1-$2 may not move many in a short window per show…

It’s usually pennies on the dollar cause they get a lot of books that end up just sitting for months, even years. I’ve seen books I’ve dropped off several years ago still there. Just all depends on whoever is there, their knowledge of comics and I’m sure they got in their system books that are selling higher. I’ve dumped crap books that would likely never sell, maybe a hundred or so and walk away with $20. Other times I’ve dumped same amount of books and walked away with $100.

Those $4 cover price books that aren’t special, you’ll probably get anywhere from 5 cents to 25 cents cause I’ve also seen some Half Price sell all unbagged books for 50 cents or less at times where some will actually sell for half off the cover price.

So basically the price of the bag and board…which is about 25 cents give or take 5 cents.

Most of the time if the books aren’t special, I’ll take them out of the bag and keep the boards…

Looks like usps dropped off at the wrong places

This is what Amazon and Walmart and other big retailers (who have losses built into their budget/prices) have taught society is socially acceptable. Hold the seller accountable for the failure of USPS to deliver the service it was paid to do. Even though the seller has no control once it leaves their possession, and USPS should be the one with a status and answers.

eBay has already sided with me and said the money will be released by 12/12/25. Honestly I was going to refund the buyer minus the shipping. But how I can’t. They made it worse by filing the dispute.

That’s why you should always reach out first to the seller.

He reached out. Said you mailed the book to the wrong address. I verified his address on eBay was correct. He filed the dispute.

That’s why you should always reach out and then wait for the seller to actually respond before doing the next action…

USPS delivered the book. Where I don’t know. Not my fault but I was willing to take the hit for it.

Yup, why he should have waited a bit longer after reaching out and seeing what you would do to try and correct yourself. Every buyer should know by now, most of the time if you have tracking and it shows delivered and you used eBay to print label to ship, eBay gonna side with the seller.
