As much as I hate to say it, to me this falls on the buyer. The publication date is in the description page and there is a photo showing the bar code and price indicating it is the reprint. I doubt the seller did anything against Ebay policy. Definitely a grey area.
My personal opinion is the seller should have made it clear as day that the book is a reprint.I do believe there is intent to mislead what is exactly for sale but that is just my opinion and would be tough to prove. The seller should know better and if these sales are real is little more than a low life.

Books I’m starting to think are a “get them now or really regret it later”…simply based on watching bidding action on whatnot as well as observations at cons and other non-scientific methods.

That war of the realms has gone nuts…I bought all mine awhile back (still for a premium), but man, they have really shot up!
I got a couple of them just for the covers (Silk / Luna Snow).

Kanan #1 is the only reasonably attainable Sabine first. The Egmont Rebels Magazine #1 just plain has no presence online. It’s not even a matter of money. It is just not there to be bought.

Even though the 1:50 has always gone for more the 1:25 is the best cover by far

For art yea the 25 had better cover. The mico wave cover is also great. And the rate case of a store exclusive hold or increasing in value over the years. The 1:50 will be highly valued just on how rare it is

I went all in on Luna Snow and White Fox. Some lesser key books and covers are still pretty affordable. I just really like the characters.

I bought a 5 pack via a facebook group last fall for $35 shipped. All NM+. Sadly, I sold 3 to pay for the total order (plus some) right away. Need to get these two graded, but I keep waiting for CGC times to improve, and they’ve only tripled.

If she makes it into the Doctor Strange movies like the rumours suggest this could be huge. I’d be selling all my copies if I could use ebay

If there was hard evidence it wouldn’t be a rumour, kind of defeats the purpose of the word rumour then
Although I don’t think that has any impact on it’s current sales direction, the episode was likely the push since that rumour been around for a while now. Yes people can argue it’s not the same character but it basically is, so I can understand why it’s picking up some heat, better spec there than a costume change or if a 30+ year old character now decideds they likes boys over girls or both.

there are different levels of rumors, something from wegotthiscovered is considered trash by most but a rumor from one of the more reliable places carries more weight. just wasnt sure where this one started from

I was referring mainly to the Future Fights ratio cover and the Coax variant but yes, the WOTR 2nd printings for sure.
I own first Captain Britain, does that mean I own first Captain America, Captain Universe, Captain Canuck, Captain Carrot, Captain Eo, Captain Solo, Captain Kangaroo all in the same book? I played Marvel Puzzle Quest well before the character ever made her way into comics I have regular copies and the different incentives, she is Captain America in Marvel Puzzle Quest not Captain Britain. I think the better bet is first Peggy Carter not like she hasn’t been in a half dozen movies and her own tv show to already bring the heat a one episode cartoon isnt going to push the needle much more. Specing on cartoons you’ll go broke, every character appears in cartoons at one time or another. So might as well just collect every first appearance instead of waiting for them to appear in animation and pay a premium after they do. The whole so and so is going to be in Dr Strange 2 is getting old so far more characters are rumored to appear in it than Endgame.

Captain Britain and Captain America are completely different, you are too fixated on the costume. Just because Miles goes and wears a Spider-Man costume doesn’t make him Spider-man, his core character is still the same. Peggy was not called Captain Britain in the episode either, she is a female Captain America, exact same power set and origin to the original Captain America.
I’m not saying you are wrong or right I am merely stating why I can see people will go to this issue after the episode and I also see a bit more in it’s future in terms of value and desirability.
Your point on paying a premium is mute that’s exactly why people speculate, if there was no demand for a character after appearing in other media there would be no point in buying multiple copies of books.
Whether rumours are getting old or not doesn’t stop them from happening, either ignore it or use it to your advantage to fund the hobby, it doesn’t change the end result whether it’s agreed or not, people are buying this book and wanting it which is driving up demand and value, the whole point of this thread is to pick those out, if it’s already in here it’s likely too late to grab one but for those that have them it’s either a time to decide to sell or hold and for those that don’t either buy, wait or skip.
The What If series is also quite different to our run of the mil cartoon show since it has been confirmed to be canon and could affect parts of future movies which is why there is a buzz around it compared to other cartoon shows.
