Most of the time…this “new” spec is so old…I have to go digging to see if I bought it the last few times it came up.
Just found all my Calvin Ellis issues from the last time I cleared em out of dollar bins.

It says MODERN spec… books on the rise for the future. Yes some of the books are already hot but they discuss market trends recent sales etc.

The video is known spec… by us and them… same way we speak on books they’re doing the same. Mentioning books that have further potential or an uptake in prices. It’s not like they dont know what’s hot lol.

The context was comics with most upside under $100. They picked 2nd print because it is the only one selling for under $100. Or that is what the YouTube guy said.

This is a nothingburger. LCS clarified that Diamond ‘allocated’ because some books got hung up in Texas. All orders will be filled.

To be fair, I didn’t initially interpret it as you describe. But (lol), imo, Vader #3 on the rise, all Variats and printings, is still not speculation. That is pretty much established fact at this point in time. If you were going to ‘spec’ on Aphra, the Halloween Comicfest Edition would of been where I went. I digress.

To my point. I was heavily 'spec’n on Aphra 18 months ago. A 9.8 2nd print will cost you $400-$500 today. Not a great buy in for a modern book from 2016 (understanding that today’s market is absolutely crazy and nuclear). That same book, in the same condition, was $30 18 months ago. In fact, 18 months ago you could of got a 9.8 1:25 Vader #3 for half the price of a 9.8 2nd print today.
Aphras 1st, imo, is no longer speculation.
Found a Champions #1 at my go-to shop for recent back-issues that seem to be lying around waiting for me to claim them.

I found a DV 3 4th print at my LCS a month ago. At first I almost passed because it wasn’t a first print. Im close with the owner so he told me I should look it up which I did and was surprised at the prices. After looking it over closely it was a 9.6 at least and probably a 9.8. I paid $150 and it’s been sitting at CGC since 1/15. I can’t wait to see the grade because if it does come back 9.8 it will be my best profit from a book yet.
I also have a copy of Department of Truth 2 1:25 ( the baby eating cover ). As soon as I saw it I bought one on eBay for $35. It is also at CGC and probably a 9.8. It’s currently selling for $450+ and climbing, so my fingers are crossed on that one as well.
