Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

Hit two shops today, and one was already completely out of Avengers 53, and the other was down to 3 copies. No Sway variants left.

We really need to send King of Games or whatever he calls himself pictures of all the copies we’re seeing in the wild.

Anyone actually get their refund yet? All I got was a “promise” email so far.

Not yet, I already opened a case with paypal. No time for nonsense.

I filed a paypal claim for a refund with his initial email stating he was not able and did not intend to fulfill his end of the deal (we call that anticipatory breach in the legal world) and his “refund” email where he stated he initiated a refund but none had been initiated.

I received a refund in my favor from paypal within 1 minute.

Don’t give this guy an interest free loan. Get your money back on your terms. Don’t wait for him.

Went to 2 shops today to see if I could find a copy of DV20 or Land of the Living Gods. My usual LCS has it saved for me but it’s still fun to go out on the hunt. Both shops did not get their books in yet so it looks like I won’t be able to get them there. There were already customers at the store looking for DV20.

However digging through the back issues I was able to find this 9.8 beauty for $5. :joy: I looked at the same spot about a month ago and it was not there. They must’ve put out new back stock.

Wow. One minute? I’m sold.

The more people do this the better chance stores stop this garbage.

Does it actually take funds out of his account? Seems awfully quick.

I supposed if enough people do it’ll raise a flag on his account at some level.

It will, and put him in a negative balance if they don’t have the funds to fulfill the request.

People see the money come in and something in their head twitches “I know it’s not mine, but it’s a lot of money and I want it”. They then make a poor decision to use it knowing it’s not theirs, and someone will be coming for it (insert favorite drug dealer movie here).

Scarface is the answer to that question(?) for every breathing human. :100:

I’ve had $900 in cash sitting in my business checking for weeks waiting for the HasLab Razor Crest I sold to be delivered to my buyer.

You just leave it be until you know the deal is done.

Yeah I would say most people don’t do this ;). I understand the concept though!

Not an email I received. A friend received it:

Wondering what people with more experience than me with payment systems make of this.

Don’t care.

The payment sat “Not yet accepted” for a day or two. Someone authorized it. Someone who hopefully learned a valuable lesson.

They’re still getting a 1099 form because of the comics they sold…MUWAHAHAHA

They’re gonna hate the IRS.
