Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

The story goes that DC was set to cancel the book due to COVID-19, but Diamond had already printed some copies. Instead of pulping them, they threw them in those Walmart 3-packs

Edit: As @agentpoyo said, they weren’t printed by Diamond. DC had printed them and sent them for distribution.

It was never released to shops but now showing up in Wal-Mart 3 packs… give it more time, more will likely surface and it’s not as rare as one likely thinks it is. People are just being dumb with their money with FOMO controlling their urges!

Diamond didn’t print… DC had them printed, shipped to distributor to never get distributed (probably because DC said to cancel) but after time passed, they probably got permission to sell to Wal-Mart for their 3 packs to offload the extra inventory.

Would you know which Walmart packs it was?

Like, if it was specific to a book on the front, or just random insertion amongst the packs?

I don’t know the specifics. I don’t shop at Wal-Mart. I don’t even set a foot in Wal-Mart. I’ve live a Wal-Martless life…

If RWBY had fans, they would have bought the books on release…

They didnt. Nobody cared about the books (#1-6)

Same boat as Gen Lock. It’s also not a “grail”. And sellers labeling it as “pulped” dont make sense. Do people even know what “pulped” means ?? Because, the book is available which means it wasnt “pulped”… :joy:

Lets cut through the bullshit, shall we…

RWBY #7 and Gen:LOCK #6…both books were printed and stored at Diamond. I ordered 20 copies of Gen Lock #6 from Diamond when that article came out.

Thats what I have remaining.

Retailers could have ordered both books. No telling how many copies retailers are holding back. (Like myself)

This retailer had copies…

Rwby is a popular series but they’re not reading the comic books or even buying them lol. Similar to how magic players don’t read the magic comics

Cgr destroys marvel universe was the same thing. Final issue never came out. Until people actually wanted it, and marvel released it months later.

Right. Fans arent buying these books. Fans can read the books online for free.

LIke Kevin said above, its speculators selling to speculators.

You mean this ? The Real Reason Winds of Winter is So Late in Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History #6 [Preview]

There was no delay. Final issue came out when scheduled.

Your right. It was originally supposed to be like 9 issues, but they stopped it at 6. Something like that.

And already printed issue #7

Found a copy of RWBY 7 Cover A and B in two of the several ‘I am Batman’ packs, but not all. Need to look at the spine to pick the right one.

Also found a Campbell Exclusive Catwoman and Detective 1027 Blue sketch cover variant in the ‘I am Batman’ packs. Not sure if the latter is worth anything, may be cover price. The Catwoman is easy to spot.

Seems like the ‘I am Batman’ packs are the ones to look for, check out for variants. But I noticed that other packs have ‘Three Jokers’, ‘Batman Imposter’, Batman 100, etc. and other variants in them; probably not worth much though.

The Marvel packs are a bust this time - didnt notice if the Star Wars books are Walmart variants. Also, the Captain America/Iron Man 1 is a Walmart variant but nothing special.

These books aren’t rare. If they were printed but not destroyed then the entire print run will eventually be put in the wild.

I like that Walmart Kate Bishop Hawkeye cover. I bought one for the PC.
