I’m telling you, Eight Billion Genies is a GENIUS premise! Soooo many stupid and wasteful wishes to be made and the stories that can stem from that are endless (well, at least eight billion stories).
Imagine 1,000 people wishing for an Action Comics #1 CGC 10 or Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps PSA 10. That would make them a whole lot less attractive than what exists in our real world but people would do that thinking they’re the only one.

What we do in the shadows already did this on the latest season. Nandor had a genie with a bunch of wishes that he wasted on stupid stuff (like closing his coffin to fall asleep once).

WWDitS is an awesome show. He did more than just stupid stuff with his genie. Like bringing back all his long dead wives. Marrying one. Bringing back her parents to life (but the leave after brunch on Sunday. Love that show.

Yeah an animated show for this series would kill it in theory.
Until someone wishes the world would end. Then it’s over. But that wouldn’t make for a good story.

Many stories about wishes and desires and the trouble they can cause. The plot device is as old as story telling.
The Devil is in the details though & that is why 8 Billion Genies is so good imo.
The very best use of the plot device would be “The Monkey’s Paw” if I had to choose.
