Punisher 218 hitting the spec list rounds has cleared out ebay of all cheap copies. I doubled the price of the one I had listed and it just popped.

bunch of the YouTube talking heads have put out spec for Punisher appearing in the Armor Wars Disney+ show. So everyone freaks out and clears out ebay without even checking their LCS back issue bins. The FOMO is strong.

Let alone, the Punisher hasnt appeared in the MCU yet, so why would he all of a sudden wear armor in his MCU debut ??? Seriously…c’mon

I bought a few cover Bs of these way back for dirt cheap just to go with my iron Man #282 Warmachine display. Same reason I bought the Venom 25 Greg Horn Virus/Warmachine Homage cover.
They go well together. It’s a fun cover.
I had to buy a slab of the Sanctum Sanctorum Venom 26 Skan variant because it had Virus with the 1st Iron Man homage. Look it up if you haven’t seen it.

I don’t know…I’ve been watching this quietly for the past couple of years. I have zero inside information, but the Punisher Rosenberg run has been moving up consistently.
On top of that, there was a War Machine Punisher “Pop” comic cover released for Empyre #1. That was probably over a year ago. Anyone remember that?

I have the “photo” variant of 218 because I loved the cover. Was going to grab the 2nd print to go with my Iron Man 282 about a month ago but literally the day I thought of pulling the trigger it showed up on spec sites, eBay got wiped, and copies went for $20 to over $100 literally overnight.
So this issue has been spec’d on for a while…it’s been heating up for a while…sites are finally catching up.
I guess I’ll just grab the lenticular and remove the front cover!

Yeah they probably pick a stack of whatever is cheap then hype it up on their next show…It is a pretty cool cover though but I would prefer to see Frankencastle vs the Marvel Zombies show.
I will chime in as this book (Punisher 218) has been on my “always check for it” list for some time. The high price isn’t new and that A cover just doesn’t show up much relatively speaking. I find the lenticular often and IMO it’s where most of the orders went at the time.
Clayton Crain has a big following and that cover is a beauty.
Sure…some folks may come across them in cheap bins, but I think you’ll see it less than you may think.
