Did not see any Usagi on release day at my shops. Wasn’t heavily ordered, usually I would see a few copies. Not going to chase it. My rule is I only buy for cover price on release day and move on to the next.

Or someone could just, you know, maybe, possibly, just want a Usagi 1st appearance and missed out and feels $25 is worth it to add to their collection. Or maybe every comic sale ever is because of FOMO… hard to tell.

Previews had described issue 20 of Usagi as “The introduction of a new recurring character”. With a Netflix show coming up the character could have staying power. It could be a good long-term hold rather than typical FOMO.

I think the movie poster homage covers giving the book a reason to be chased.

Possibly, but I can’t see people chasing this books first appearance unless they’re already a Usagi fan and I can only imagine most Usagi fans already got this one on the pull list.
But those who buy cause they just want at premium we call “collectors”.

Is this known from people you know or an assumption? I get why Turtle followers might read or go after Usagi but I can’t imagine all or most Turtle fans go after Usagi books. Probably even a smaller piece of the circle of those grabbing both.
1st appearance of a new character. Only reason people are buying. I dont believe comic characters have fans. I do believe speculators love new characters and will pump what they have.
Im pretty sure there are waaaaay more Nightwing “fans” out there then Usagi “fans”…and Nightwing #81 cant even crack $12…soooooo

The Usagi Netflix show is not focused on Usagi. It’s focused on a character named Yuichi.
The new character in 20 is Yukichi.
Can’t be a coincidence the name is that similar so people figure the new character will be involved in the Netflix series.
