Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 2)

I’m guessing because it’s a low printed series, making B covers somewhat hard to find.

Another odd Nightwing related one:

This isn’t even the most expensive one in this series, 43 bids to get here:

I can tell you that I only pulled cover A for just about every issue of Nightwing from Joker War onward.

Heads up on another Mora Nightwing cover catching heat. I can’t find any up for sale on eBay.

Since we are talking about “B” covers and astounding prices for books to be on the look out for:

Astonishing Wolf-Man #11 (with Invincible on the cover) $30-$40
Astonishing Wolf-Man #21 Whilce Portacio cover artwork $20-$30
Astonishing Wolf-Man #16 Dale Keown cover artwork $500
Astonishing Wolf-Man #5 Arthur Adams cover artwork $60-$70
Astonishing Wolf-Man #18 Frank Cho cover artwork $500-$625

Is he going to show up in the Invincible cartoon? Rumors?

Just something to look out for when your at the LCS this week…

Does anyone have any clue why all these Nightwing/Robin covers are super hard to find and selling like they are? I’ve sold a few Nightwings recently and it seems like they’re mostly going to international folks.

Nightwing/Robin is very popular with the LGBT+ community and it’s not heavily ordered, hence very hard to find the B or C covers. I have suspected for some time that at some point these B and C covers will be highly coveted when it’s done by a popular in demand artist. International fans of course will have a very hard time getting these books so they will pay a premium for these comics from the US and Canada.

For example at my LCS it’s always the same trend. If you put a title on your pull list, my LCS (the biggest one in my city) will only order you the A cover unless you specify. If it’s a big title like Batman and Ultimate Spiderman, they will order some B and C covers. All other titles if they order it’s only cover As. I have thought at some point in the future we’d be looking for these B covers like we are looking for newsstands today. It’s coming at us much sooner than I imagined.

Yes…it’s called Comicsheatingup.net.

Maybe this group has more of a reach than I’ve given it credit for…

There are private groups out there, on Facebook, that do this…

Dont think CHU is a secret

But seriously, these covers arent good. And yet people are paying stupid prices…

Shame to lose that content. I’ve always wondered about what open order B covers were valuable. Maybe a page on CHU that the community can keep up to date?

I sold another Red Hood today, and again, it was an international sale.

Why is Red Hood / Nightwing so popular overseas?
