Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 2)

This one has jumped in the past few days. What’s the skinny?

1st appearance and cover of that character. I didn’t get to read it yet though.

probably cause its not out yet officially

? It’s on the racks here as of yesterday…all the shops.
Is there a different version that wasn’t released yet?

For some reason I thought this came out a while back. I remember the cover.

Guess we missed this. I did highlight the issue in my FOC picks, but cover A because the two on that cover were in the solicitation .

SPIDER-MAN’s first task as spider-god Anansi’s herald? BATTLE TO THE DEATH against Anansi’s ancient enemy, ARES, GOD OF WAR! HERCULES may lend Miles his strength against his old foe, but Team Spider-Man is going to need a lot more muscle if they hope to best Ares’ own champions. *Introducing War-Cry, Philomelus, demigod of earth, and Pyrrah, demigoddess of water!

I think I mistook the character for Anansi.

This issue hit shelves last week. May 14.

I grabbed a couple from my shop.

Issue #34

Miles’ newest recruit is a gamma-powered HULK?! Meet THE SHRINK - and she’s prescribing a little SMASH THERAPY!

Looks like a new “hero” sort of…not a villain. Now I get it.

She must know Bruce…or Jennifer Walters.

Interesting spec books this week with Nightwing #126 (from what I can tell later series 1:25 and unique cover art with no supply).

Another one that you should keep an eye out for is Zatanna #4 1:25. Last two Ebay sales were $50 each.

Anyone get the Milkbones Superman exclusive? Limited to one per household, my all in was $14 and just sold it for $60.

Doom #1 (2024) is also starting to move again. Sold copies have gotten into the $50-$60 range again.

Good hunting everyone!

MCS had at least 10 copies of the Nightwing ratio

That Zatanna ratio is meh. Midtown still has copies.

It’s different but not for me personally. Anymore it feels like covers pop more than 1st appearances on the secondary market.

This one has definitely warmed up. I had two copies. One sold for $30 overnight, and the second had multiple offers come in, even though that one was priced at $25. Funny how the perceived value of a more expensive book has it sell first. Both copies were similar condition.

And my second copy just sold.

The new series hitting (FOC this weekend) should also revitalize it. Fun series… I’ve been at multiple cons recently where people are asking for it still. Don’t see many copies for sale either… certainly not at shows I’ve been at anyway.
I like that Cover D Skottie Young variant…good combination given the look of the book, characters, etc.
