I need to go match my sales with what it says on the 1099 and deduct for shipping. What month did they do the changeover from PayPal, does anyone remember?

The 1099 is NOT indicative of what you madeâŠsimply what eBay deems your income is. So, the shipping cost goes into your income as well as the sales tax figures. Keep in mind you will still have to minus out their full fees including any returns or partial refunds.
I chatted with paypal support a couple of weeks ago about a question for 2023 filing, and they replied with info that wasnât relevant to me, but might give you some insight into why you received a 1099.
Yes, I had a few sales go into January where I was still finishing up using Paypal instead of switching over to their pay platform.
Iâve lost track with most everything involving Ebay/Paypal as a seller, since I no longer involve myself with online electronic transactions.
A 1099 is what one tax paying entity paid another tax paying entity. Not a representation of all income the receiving tax entity earned.
I could in theory 1099 all landscapers, cleaners, pest control service providers and the guy who prepared my will this year if I wanted. I wonât because that would be weird and they would be pissed.
Provided you arenât reporting less income than the 1099s in aggregate are reporting, there shouldnât be an issue. (Keeping in mind an audit is always possible regardless of how by-the-book you play things).

This dude sponsored it.
Itâs a partisan bill. Not introduced by the governor or his party.
There were some Nay votes along the way while it got amended.
