Nycc 2025

It begins….

A lot more of the bigger exhibitors were back this year and spread out unlike previous years. The mornings weren’t bad with the afternoon getting very crowded and then later in the day thinning out again. Some vendors were limiting the amount of items you could buy, for example the walmart spawn toy and comic was one per person as well as tiny onion department of truth bootleg was also one per person. The one piece booth had boxes of cards that were two per person that sold out quickly.

On the other hand the comic exclusive exhibitors were sold out of some books before the shows even started, what the point of advertising them if you are just going to sell them to other exhibitors. Back issue hunting in the morning was not bad, but by afternoon the boxes were getting hit hard. There were a lot of freebies and exclusive, but you really have to look for them. The both you had to download the app for a chance to win a slab or comic was packed all day because they hype it up up when each person hits the button.

I took it my time this year and there was still a lot of stuff that I missed. It is like you need one day to scout a lot of stuff out and the second to execute your plan. I will probably go back to two days next year.

I can’t find much on this. Did they post something about what days and how many? Might go there first today.

Is this the Tiny Onion Booth? Are you referring to this card?

Yup that’s the one, Courtyard.io

No, I did not see anything, but when I got there they said one per person. The card that you showed is an Exquisite Corpses card I think and is $5, I think you can get as many of those as you want. There was an One Piece booth on the man floor that had full hobby boxes for good prices that were two per person.

The Crow Blind bag is selling very well over double the price.

Apparently todd McFarlane is doing a signing at at 1pm.

Practically bumped into me….getting ready. Line is insane.

I’m going for it.

Todd is an awesome guy. Got a chance to meet him here for fanexpo. This was a few months before the world shut down for COVID.

He took a break from signing and went to shake everyone’s hands that was standing in line and signed a few. Line was 3 hrs long and he made his way throughout the entire line. His dad did the same, was so genuinely proud of Todd and really grateful for the fans. He also signed 2 books for free in any ink and style. I guess this was before creator autographs got pricey. Funny enough it wasn’t even that long ago.

I think he’s only signing the spawn 77 book…but giving it away. Hopefully goes quick. I’m pretty far back.

It’s possible he may sign at the toy panel….not 100% sure.

He has Only 75 books. I’m 54 in line. But he may run out of time…

He was walking through the line signing books, anything you threw at him ….didnt make it to me…I would have flashed my chest…

Edit: two people jumped the line in front of me…one with a child. Had to turn them in. I don’t know any to ruin peoples fun, but they were going to screw someone over at the end of the line.

I have met Todd several times and he is awesome. I have a great story I have told about him at a live drawing. I ended up selling the piece (stick figure animals signed by him) for $500.

So he dropped one on the floor…and I was next so I was afraid he’d hand that one to me…but he didn’t. Gave it to a kid in line with his sibling.

Got this one instead. Has some spine ticks…thats ok…it’s for the PC anyway…

Then I turned it over…

That’s ok. It’s for the PC anyway. It’s was all about meeting him and shaking his hand. Bucket list stuff.

Panel was about how JSC got into comics, old photos and videos of getting interviewed before he was hired…the. With Wildstorm…and eventually to Marvel. It was good.
