Odds and Ends

I have a Samsung S23 and battery life is the best. Ill hook my phone to the tv to watch Netflix with the wife. 3hrs-4hrs of watching will drain my battery down to 50% or so.

I am not a big fan of Android

Yeah the 17 is t much better

Paramount buying WBD instead of Netflix seems to be bad news all around, from what I’ve read. May I ask why you see it in a positive light? I am curious!

I think the browser is worse too…it’s like partially zoomed in so I have to zoom out to see the whole screen now. Not just here, but every site.

And pop ups are delayed so when I go to shrink the screen it pops up just before I touch it…and I end up hitting the add and it takes me somewhere else.

It’s a conspiracy to get more clicks…

I posted the photos in the Crownsville topic

You know what book I would love to come to fruition…
ANIMOSITY.

I love that story an there was eons ago talk of option.

If done right, with good effects, it would be incredible.

Good news for me, my NFLX stock went up afterwards… I think Paramount is overpaying at this point and they have to pay also the 2.8 billion dollars to Netflix cause WB broke the initial deal with Netflix from what I read.

I thought Netflix has to pay the 2.8 billion no matter what happens?

Paramount Global (specifically through its merger with Skydance) is paying the $2.8 billion breakup fee to Netflix. This payment terminates Netflix’s prior agreement to acquire parts of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), allowing Paramount to proceed with its superior acquisition offer for WBD

Larry Ellison from Oracle helped Paramount cover this deal and anything Ellison touches is ruined, coming from a guy in the tech world… so Warner Bros. is fscked if you ask me… haha…

List of things Oracle acquired and then basically destroyed in the process:

  1. Sun Microsystems - Use to have bad ass hardware, Solaris was solid too at one time… gone, vanished, pretty much acquired and it’s nothing now. This also led to acquiring OpenOffice which was front open source and free contender against Microsoft Office, they ruined it so developers forked it and started LibreOffice. Java sucked but sucks even more now under Oracle’s reign.

  2. MySQL - They sucked so bad, this is what caused the open source community to fork it and create MariaDB which everyone uses now unless they use PostgreSQL for free databases.

  3. Hudson CI - Was promising but immediately forked to create Jenkins… Hudson is non-existent now while Jenkins is a pretty household name when it comes to CI/CD pipelines in the DevOps tech world…

And plenty of others. Let’s hope Ellison is just putting up money but has no say or consider WB doomed… cause Ellison ruins everything he touches!

Tell me if you guys get bored with this. I really feel like I don’t have much left that will sell. But at 4:59 am I had these sell, which had been sitting for a while (part of my cheap 4th quarter Thanksgiving sale buy).

Day 59/59 is official.

Keep posting. I think it’s fun. I can’t sell like that so I am enjoying watching you pull it off. Plus, I think it helps us all get a pulse on the market.

At this point it’s like a punch card…no matter how the sandwich is, you’re invested and gotta earn that free bad sandwich.

When will it end….?!

My longest consecutive sales streak is 17 days, spanning from December 25th to January 10th.

Most days w/o a sale was 3 since end of November….only happened a once.

3/1 sale went through early this morning Bug Wars Spyder Witch Blag bag sold. I am on the board but barely. Sales have slowed down as I have mostly sold through my stock of Absolute books. One day this week sold a bundle of 7 books and a couple other singles. Now down to one a day it seems.

Not complaining today is 60/60 days with a comic sold.

My youngest is getting a haircut today. He wanted to ride his E-bike there. So I took my oldest’s e-bike and off on an adventure we went.
