Live action? Seems like animated would make more sense.

I know there are strong feelings about all retailers, so be kind here. But, I work at Best Buy corporate, we just launched a big project today that I’ve been on for over a year.

https://www.bestbuy.com/gamers

Our brand new “all things gaming” experience. There are some really cool giveaways right now, tons of content, and some nice deals. Sign up on the page (just log in to your BBY account, then join on the Gamers page). It’s free, and you get a free $5 gift certificate just for signing up (limited number of these, so sooner is better, and we’ve had a ton of signups today).

If this isn’t your thing, or you have a burning hatred of BBY, all good! I just wanted to share as I know many of us here are gamers, too.

99% sure I’m just gonna list my set of D’Orc 1-5 for an obscene amount and see what happens. 1st Print #1 selling in the $200-300 range on eBay if I looked correctly, I’ll gladly take that now instead of my usual wait/hold strategy where I make no profit lol.

Thanks, @Joe! I don’t have any beef with Best Buy and have enjoyed shopping there more than some other franchises. I’ll look into this.

I used to be all onboard with Best Buy, for a very long time. Like back when Circuit City was still big, I always preferred Best Buy. I was all over their rewards program, bought all my movies and games there, built all my computers with parts I bought there. It was the first and last place I looked for anything tech. Best Buy’s Deal of the Day was my browser homepage for years. Even if Amazon or Walmart was cheaper, I’d rather get it at Best Buy. Then they slimmed down the rewards system. Then they got rid of it entirely in favor of this system you have to buy into at $200 a year bundled with a lot of ‘services’ I couldn’t care less about. Completely lost me as a customer literally overnight. I no longer had any incentive to buy from Best Buy over anywhere else.

I wouldn’t bring it up at all, except it sounds like you’re someone that might actually have an interest in that customer experience from the corporate side of things. It’s nice to hear they’re still working on some incentives programs. I still hold out hope that someday they come to their senses. But I guess shareholder earnings are a hell of a drug.

I totally get it. Best Buy had some lean years where some of their loyalty programs were just losing money and the company had to make really tough decisions. Having been there 10 years now, I genuinely believe in the company. They can’t always compete on price with Amazon where their margins are paper thin or non-existent. If BBY isn’t for you, I will never begrudge anyone for that opinion. But, this gaming space is pretty legit and hopefully can earn some skeptics back. And if not, that’s ok too.

I worked at Best Buy back in college in Indiana. Oh do I have a story to tell. To this day they owe me retro pay, not a lot nowadays but what they did to me and a few other guys from the Audio and Car Audio department would make you think twice in how they treated their employees, if it happened today and if I had the money for a good lawyer at the time with the few other guys, we probably would have been enjoying early retirement.

So yeah, I don’t do Best Buy anymore… Sorry Joe! Nothing against you though, I’ve heard good things about the corporate side of things at that company but back in the day, I’m sure I wasn’t the only employee that got shit on hard… I mean, it was bad what they did to me and the others. We’re talking someone could have gone to jail over it.

What truly is considered “animated” these days? animated is essentially artificial, correct?

If it’s mostly AI generated or special effects enhanced, isn’t it more animated than “live?”

Sorry to hear that poyo!

Spears is giving away signed/unsigned comics on whatnot right now. 1:800 chance atm. Tomorrow Mcfarlane is doing it too.

Spears/Keen spot is now allowing returns on the blind bags (opened).
I’m hoping my store will allow me to return my 5 (well 4 because it’s only right I keep one).

Good on them! They took some serious heat over those blind bags.

I love a good spot foil. Usually more than a full foil cover.

2 recent covers were solicited as spot foils (Batgirl #24 Eom, Poison Ivy #48 Lozano) but were printed full foil. The Eom cover still looks good but the Lozano is just a pale image of what the solicited cover looked like.

I had a store exclusive spot foil I ordered a few months ago and it was solicited as such but arrived as full foil. I emailed to ask about it and they just ignored.

What is up with this? Why so many solicited spot foils not getting printed incorrectly?

Hearing some chatter that Absolute Batman #25 is just incredible. Clearly it was heavily ordered, but that doesn’t always matter if it is that amazing.
Anyone else hearing this? Already read it?

For all my years doing the blog and getting digital press previews from various publishers, DC and Marvel have never been interested in providing me with advance copies of anything. Times like this I wish I could read it if the buzz is that good! At least I got to read, Image’s latest big book, “Terminal,” a month in advance. For what that was worth…meh.
