Old news like the idea of a female 007. He’s too old anyway, they’ll have to recast in few years. Should choose someone to last atleast 4-5 movies.

This. He’s a great actor, but Eon is 20 years too late.
Too American. He could work as 007’s American counterpart. And I think the studios have set him up as the new Jack Ryan type from the Tom Clancy movies (the Amazon movie).
I think he can, hes just being pigeon-holed into tough guy roles.
Idris is only 49 years old. We got much older actors doing similar type movies… I don’t consider him too old and he can easily knock out a few movies before his time is up. Daniel Craig is 54 years old currently and he could still do Bond if he wanted.
Daniel Craig started Bond when he was 38. He made 5 Bond movies since then, and was burned out by the last movie.
Bond movies dont get made every year. Making a Bond film is grueling; age and interest is a factor, not to mention story and public reception.
I dont consider him ‘too’ old; I consider him old to play Bond.
‘Could do Bond’ is subjective - given the right amount of $$$ and the right plot, if Sean Connery and Roger Moore were alive, even they would be able to ‘do’ Bond. Harrison Ford is going to revisit Indiana Jones, doesnt mean its the Indiana we started off with.

My Odds & Ends…
Picked up Covid-19 (as did my whole family) late last week and despite this being the 3rd time I’ve had it, fully vaccinated, and constantly exposed via my healthcare role…holy hell did it kick my ass. Still reeling from it. Thankfully we’re all ok (including my folks who are in their 80’s).
Close eye still on my wife as she is still weak from varied cancer related meds but…
Anyway, I only bring this up, not for pity or attention but it was just a brutal reminder that our lives will continue to be impacted by that darn virus.

Glad you are recovering. I hope your wife is doing well. Being immuno-compromised does not help with an aggressive virus such as COVID. My wife also had to deal with cancer years back and will always be immuno-compromised. We haven’t gotten COVID…yet, but it is here to stay and will only be a matter of time…sigh. Keep resting and get well to all of you.
