I see the comics thing being discussed as no different than street dates with toys.
I enjoy Star Wars toys…they very often have street dates. More often than not, I find the toys out before the street date even the boxes are clearly marked as such. Heck, I’ve even brought items up to the register and the register informs the cashier that it has a street date/not to be sold, blah, blah, blah.
The cashier doesn’t care and overrides it and I’m good to go.
I post and talk about my find to my hearts content. Wasn’t my “responsibility” to worry about a street date, I’m just there as a customer buying stuff.
Thanks, I grabbed 10 more of each this morning early. I ordered 10 more of all 3 covers just now and called in a late variant request the publisher has to approve for 3 copies of the 20 qty variant that may or may not get approved.
I’m glad those credit cards are still empty. I’m expecting to have a stock when all those turtle books and WD193’s show up on the invoice next week payment due on the 24th!!!
So that’ll be 5 covers for the book counting the 20qty ratio, A, B, FOC and the MIX Variants.
It usually takes me about a month to remember to give out one bundles worth and by then the other two bundles get buried under the next sample. I started using those little postcard size ones to fill in the gaps on the front door around posters to keep light out just to use them up.

Anything to get the one page I peaked at of that last comic out of my head. Just happens to be next in the stack getting B&B’d near the bottom of the delivery. Already been irritated by Venom and Naomi.
Finished, do you think any of those mixes have a future outside the Secret Warps stories? I didn’t read the first round so they’re all new to me right now. Reminds me of those Amalgam issues from the Marvel DC crossover, neat visually but no future since.
Typically no…but they sure are putting forth an effort into it all & that last teaser page presenting new characters/storylines to come seems like they are going full speed ahead.
While a bit cheesy I’ve actually enjoyed much of it from a fun perspective.
Anymore seems like a new character with a low print=worth a pick up (& I can’t imagine it was ordered too heavily).
I ordered 2 copies but didn’t have any subscribers or presales for it. In stock at Diamond right now so it can be jumped. If you can get it cheap it might not be a bad long term hold and definitely has some visual fun from what I glanced at.
That one that’s worse than Batman Damned by far is already out at Diamond right now.
The mix is messed up on my Black Cat #2’s. Every copy is Carnage-ized Trade Dress. Nothing for the shelf but the regular variants and Cover A is showing out at Diamond so I can’t order more in.
There we go. Spoilers are up so it’s safe to say Second Coming now for the book with the literal 1st Wang and the one page I glimpsed at with that says why DC bailed on the title. Adam holding his wood in a book destined to attract the religious conservatives attention. How could that possibly lead to controversy in the weeks to come?
So you think even with the increased orders of, “Second Coming,” due to the hype with the new publisher it could still heat up and gain spec value? Interesting.
I had preachers and religious people giving me that look like they would be watching back when DC was soliciting it.
I may force myself to read a copy later but naked Adam holding himself while naked Eve appeared to be trying to justify the apple thing to God drawn as a white male again doesn’t make me think it’s going to fly under the radar for long.
The publisher change hype was only for spec people’s notice. I expect it had a smaller print run than it would have pushed as a DC solicit buried in the depths of the misc small publishers on the order form. I almost missed ordering it myself and that was with one customer wanting it so I knew to look for it. I got an extra copy of both covers just in case but with no plans for shelf stocking it when ordering. I wasn’t expecting the nudity and penis in hand stuff then so it’s definitely not hitting the open floor now. If they fussed about the Batwang they’re going to lose their minds over this. (Who knows what else could be in the book I haven’t read or seen yet?)
We’re smack in the middle of revival season here in the South. That’s where preachers set up tents outside and have extra meetings in the heat with lots of loud speakers trying to get extra attention.
