That’s both part of the blessing and curse of working at TFAW. It’s been our policy to keep things at “cover price” regardless of the secondary market, and that includes incentive variants at set numbers, no matter if it’s some hot new Batman first appearance or a random cover of Sonic the Hedgehog. It’s also why we recently put more limits in place on ordering heavy at release, because we want people who want to read issues, or want to get into comics in general, to have a chance at getting things they want. Speculators are great and all (and I buy my own fair share to do that with), but comics still need new blood! In general the new limits haven’t been a major issue to most people because pre-FOC can still be ordered heavy, and people tend to understand why it’s unfair for one person to buy all 10 copies of a 1:50 variant.

I got three. One from TFAW and secured two cover priced copies from my lCS. Tfaw still limited me to one per

I dig those policies and respect them. I don’t mind if shops do 1 per customer, to give everyone a chance and my own main local shop sets out all ratio incentives at cover price (unless they throw a copy in the longest current subscriber for the title, which sometimes ultimately makes it way back to the shelves for anyone to grab at cover price).
It’s a reason we do what we do here at CHU, spread the knowledge. I want everyone to get a chance at grabbing great reads, great spec books (short or long term) and or flip books (buy a copy that people want so you can use the money to buy more books). We’re not like most comic sites that focus on the speculation who want to keep things secret so it only benefits them (and possibly really close inner circle).

But in all seriousness, yes it is against the rules, and if you make it super obvious to people (like calling support and saying you have a problem ordering a limited thing on your second account but it worked fine the other three hundred times) or abuse it too much, it’s not a huge priority most of the time for us to act against.
There are people who have used multiple accounts to order LOTS of extras purely for things like eBay, or for their own comic shop, and in those cases we’ll ban people, cancel orders, or take away the ability to place pre orders depending on the severity and on how they treat our support staff.
If people here who collect or general customers get a second or third book every now and then on limited things (especially since it may be one for reading one for display or something) it’s understandable.
