I think I only saw the first two films out of what… 5 or 6 total so far? This one looks interesting though.
Of all the Resident Evil movies I liked Welcome to Raccoon City the best. This new one does look good as well.

Im am sooo looking forward to this.
I just finished re-reading (listening to) the book yesterday. I read it a decade ago and loved it. It’s just as good now. Probably a top 5 all-time book for me. It’s a post-apocalypse with sadness and loss and violence, but optimism.
I was mowing the lawn and listening, and just sobbing. I’m sure that was a great look for the neighbors. The movie can’t possibly live up to the expectations I have for it, but I’m going to see it anyway.

Also, that trailer looks almost nothing like the book’s story, which is a bummer. The book is more “A River Runs Through It”, and the movie looks a little too Michael Bay, sadly.
