Stupid sexy Flanders for the win. Again.

I went heavier than usual on that post-covid Star Wars spec, and yeah, I swear I just saw a tumbleweed roll past those boxes.

Ugh. Looking back at the 2021-2023 SW spec…. I think that’s just going to be a total loss. I should have known better…. Oh well, I have something to burn for fire wood in the coming apocalypse.

Ha. I have a Star Wars box of spec too. But I still will pick up first appearances for the collection

It’ll come back around. Look at all those Dark Horse books that kind of sat with zero value that made a comeback briefly. Just set aside for now, new Star Wars fans are born every day…

It totally will come back around. Like the tide. A space tide!

A lot of the early demand was due to video games which featured dark horse characters…Mandalorian seasons 1 & 2 made everyone think Disney was going to start roll out these legends characters one by one in live action. Covid was a shot of adrenaline to the mix.

I think speculation hit its peak during Books of Boba Fett when Black Krrsantan debuted. And the nose dive started with the death of Cad Bane. Andor aside (which as great as it was had no content for speculation) Disney has flopped like a fish out of water ever since.

That was early February 2022. I bet you look at any Star Wars keys they will follow that curve.

Disney totally shanked rolling out the high republic in live action. Had such promise. Now I doubt if they’ll ever go back into that period aside from cartoons and comics.

All it will take is a GOOD Star Wars show with mass appeal, like Mando has/had and it will take off again.

I’m hoping the Mando movie next year sparks some interest in Star Wars comics again. I have some CGC graded Mandalorian 1st cover appearances I’d like to unload.

I just don’t see Star Wars ever being truly relevant again under Disney. They did their best to kill it and succeeded it seems. Remember when they said they planned to release one Star Wars related movie per year?

The Wokalyte was a disaster, as most Disney+ junk has been. But, for a show clearly geared for middle school kids, Skeleton Crew wasn’t bad. Getting past the really kiddie stuff at the beginning of the first episode, the rest of it was actually pretty interesting. It was like a mystery and treasure hunt combined. Jude Law was phenomenal. Goonies in space. Fresh content like that would be a better direction for Disney rather than rehashing and messing around with stuff that has been used to death.

But kind of getting back on topic, I fear Dr. Aphra and other comic characters just aren’t going to make it on the TV now. Disney doesn’t appear to want to touch comic stuff. I’m still waiting for Valence to get used in a movie or TV show, and he’s been around since the Marvel run.

Need to get me a blank cover of Batman/Deadpool. Came up with a cool Homage cover that would look good on that book.

Joe had a high school game tonight. He is playing for his JV team, his varsity team, his normal 16u travel team, and also a 17u travel team so I am running around like crazy. Anyway I missed the one book I really wanted to see, Absolute Evil, because they were not on the shelf at the shop. But here is what else was on interest.

Doesn’t sound like absolute Joker is in it. Other new characters though. But not anyone to get excited about just yet.

absolute Joker has several pages of speaking. But he’s not in any costume or anything. Just a guy in a suit
