2026 Death List

Not a good way to start the new year in Switzerland…

I’ll say ever since the Station Nightclub fire, in tight quarters I make a point to know where the nearest fire exits are and if possible choose seating/standing nearest them.

So many times I’ve been in rooms where it was clear capacity was exceeded…many times I’ve just walked out if I felt it was unsafe.

I do not like crowds myself and if I feel there’s no clear path out, I just remove myself from the situation. I could probably live in a tin can capsule on the way to Mars but a room packed full of people like sardines, I start to panic in my head.

I don’t over complicate it…I like animals more than people…

“As things stand, everything points to the fire starting from sparklers or flares placed in champagne bottles that came too close to the ceiling, which very rapidly led to a flashover fire,” Pilloud said.

Authorities are investigating whether soundproofing material that lined the ceiling and walls of the venue was up to code, and whether sparklers were permitted to be used inside the bar.

Sounds exactly like the Station fire. Terrible.

Quite a controversial individual in later years. When he was first diagnosed he said how he was trying all these holistic methods before using regular medical science. Whenever I see someone doing that I always wonder if they’re not gonna be with us long. No shade at alternative medicine, but if I’m diagnosed with cancer I’m gonna see a doctor.

I’m not a fan of alternative/holistic medicine all that much. I helped run a cancer support group for years and those that went for unconventional methods unfortunately didn’t last very long and it was frustrating knowing their odds of survival would have been much higher if they went for conventional treatments. I know there are those out there that swear by alternative medicines and that is fine, I just formed my opinion by watching others and their choices over a period of years. Either way, “F” cancer!

The only reason I would choose a holistic approach is if I’m likely going to die anyways and chemo/treatment will cut your life shorter or you’ll just be in agonizing pain the entire time.

My partners dad died last January after his 6 month battle with leukemia, he didn’t want to even do chemo but his wife convinced him to try so he did. That chemo just made him weaker and cut his life shorter by 6 months to a year most likely and we could have had more time with him before it ultimately took his life.

3 months before he got diagnosed, we took him down to Costa Rica on a trip around my birthday, he was zip-lining and having a grand ol time and we’d planned more trips, that we probably could have squeezed in if he hadn’t taken the chemo route.
