I bought 2 copies of the 3rd print and was contemplating a 3rd after I picked up the 1:25 
Here is the problem with these statements
If your buying more then 10, more then likely u are buying from a retailer. These people take notice to orders above 10 and will up their orders based on interest (Normaly). So by ur own logic you are tipping ur hat to retailers.
If you have your own diamond account then all the more power to you.

Well, he would be ‘showing his hand’, not ‘tipping his hat’ (tipping his hat would mean he is congratulating retailers). I believe you meant he would be ‘tipping off’ retailers, but, even that is not accurate, as he would only be tipping off one retailer, not all retailers, by preordering in large quantities.

People buying 100+ copies of a single, MODERN comic need to re-evalute their spending habits. Put that money to guaranteed profits: Silver Age & Bronze Age comics.
There’s no way I would spend that kind of money to let those books just sit in long boxes for years in a small hope that they would increase in value.

If someone bought 100+ copies of a book Pre-FOC from me, heck yea I would definitely increase my orders because there’s something spec-wise going on. Hell, even 25+ copies is a red alert…
A little hint: If you’re gonna go big, buy your comics AFTER FOC…

Ummm… I do… why do you all think I do pre-FOC picks… I’ve been telling you people what to buy… I just never disclose where in the future timeline it pays off the most.

There are more FOC retailer facebook groups then i can shake a stick at in 1 minute. There are publisher retail groups, store variant retailer groups, insider info retailer group. There are a Lot of email groups as well. Im sure there is an up to the minute chat app if i really wanted to get that. The point is, retailers talk to each other.
They ALL talk about “hot” tips from customers buying more then 10 of any single issue.

And, it’s not hard to look on Ebay, on FOC Mondays, and see what books are selling…
Adages used improperly is a pet peeve of mine. Sorry.
The classic example is people who say ‘full proof plan’. Wtf is a full proof plan? The saying is ‘fool proof’.
You need to say what you mean, and know what you mean, if you want others to understand what you are saying.

Was going to reply to a different comment, but this is exactly true. I’ve seen weeks where I ordered additional prints and not one was on the shelf. Now I sometimes will see 1-5 copies maybe, and not of every print that comes out. My local shop is by far the largest in the area, and they by no means order heavy on additional prints.
Totally agree! I took many, many years off during different moves throughout the country. Missed out on a lot of books I normally would have bought. Also lost my collection during the divorce. No clue where it went, but I also don’t lose any sleep over it, as I can’t control or change it.

Smh again with this ALL shit. No they ALL do not talk. Again my 3 LCS Ny collector cave is 1 and the other 2 is an old man who didnt know he had the books we spec on every week and when he finds out AFTER the fact he Ebay prices them. So out the 3 shops 1 is out the loop 1 buys if hes asked BUT like another poster mentioned he closes his orders out way before FOC so even when u ask it’s a no go and the last shop is on IG heavy attends cons sells toys etc. So they will mostly be the shop for the hot books. So no all shops DONT TALK!! ALL SHOPS ARENT IN GROUPS ETC ETC. Change the verbage say some or most that YOU know. But the all talk is frustrating.

I never said ALL lcs retailers talk to each other. I was responding to Mike about retailers on FB groups and such who talk to each other.

He was referring to me. And he does have a valid point. But shops like that are incresingly becoming few and far between. Especially in this new buisness model of Pandemic proportions
