Seems to be the norm these days. Don’t see very many 2nd print covers of the “splash” page that caused the 2nd printing to begin with. Most 2nd prints these days are just a recolor or virgin of a cover already released.
I prefer one like spider-man 7 3rd print

Exactly. Or Daredevil 610 2nd print or Miles Morales 13 2nd print. Marvel used to be on point with the later printings but seem to have gone the lazy route lately.
stores are either going to order a few copies or the full 25 of a 2nd printing ratio cover or not
so why change the cover there is no in-between

Sketch covers suck anyway. It’s like they just give up…don’t want to put any additional effort into making an incentive anymore…just black and white it…call it a sketch cover…pay the artist a fraction what they paid for the colored version.
