Well, it’s supposed to be a psychological thing…you’re enemies see it they’re supposed to be scared…they are a cowardly, superstitious lot. But if it’s just a black block on your chest I’m not sure it has the same effect…
In fact, they probably just stare at it like a Rorschach trying to figure out what it is…
Don’t matter what you got on your chest. You show up in the batmobile or batplane, beating the snot out of bad guys… you don’t need “branding” on your chest…
I like any comic book that appeals to a fan base that may not otherwise buy or care about a comic book, Horror fans are pretty hard core at times and very appreciative of art. We see it with the stuff like Halloween comics, Chucky, Jason, Godzilla, etc, etc…I think these Monster books fill in there as well. May be very easy sells at something like a Horror convention if you set up there.
Nothing more shameful than the Storm 2nd print 1:25 above… that was a cancelled Avengers 2nd print 1:25 that they are now attempting again. Marvel sucks.
