He has legs.
I mean, the sheer size of him, one step forward has to be a mile or so… I average 10k+ steps a day myself, so probably for Godzilla, he can get there in no time…

Allow me to expand on my question - if he simply walks across the country, are we to believe that he simply arrives in Chicago with nobody noticing him or trying to stop him before he gets there? The story line would suggest he just pops out of Lake Michigan and attacks.
A stupid point to argue but, hey, that’s what some comic discussions are for.
Hmmm, I also didn’t realize that this was a freshwater problem. I thought I was safe from Godzilla living 1000 miles from the closest ocean.
Maybe he hitched a ride with Mothra and we’ll get a Godzilla / Mothra road trip comic next.
Well, we do have to consider also that Godzilla isn’t real to begin with while most physics and logic get thrown out the window when it comes to the story telling in comics. If you question how Godzilla gets to Chicago, we should start by questioning Godzilla likelihood to begin with.

Transformers isn’t my thing, but it’s a perfect property for sound effects covers.
The Covenant of Primus had a transforming case that made the sound when you removed the book.
I sold it for hundreds of dollars years ago. But was my favorite thing about that item.
