A Black Friday Lorcana Target Flip

If you happen to be in Target, take a quick look in the toy area for these if your so inclined. They have been showing up as of today & while the price is $57.99 they will be a Black Friday week deal starting the 24th for only $40.
These are 1st chapter cards are will be heavily sought after. (Unique bundles for Black Friday only)
Target’s policy will allow for a price adjustment if you find them & purchase prior to the 24th.

Won’t be many & will be likely be cleaned out immediately but worth looking for. My Target had them out today so I jumped on a couple.
I know nothing about Pokemon cards but there is a similar situation with boxed sets of those that are easy money makers I’m told.

Anyway…

They will adjust prices if you buy something and it later goes on sale within the return period. They will not match Black Friday prices though. It’s the exception to the rule.

Not this year. Specifically asked, and their link imbedded in this ad (exceptions list, etc ) doesn’t state it at all.
As stores have moved away from the whole “one day” black Friday deal, I think they had to move in this direction.

Just a follow up on this:

Target did in fact honor this and provided me with a price adjustment.
I’m very glad I grabbed the couple I did.

Like most collectible things these days…people (well, Lorcana and card flippers) lost their collective minds over trying to get these and there is some major saltiness over them. It’s not like it’s unusual or anything but I guess folks forgot things like Black Friday sales or hot items are typically made in endless supplies. These small displays only like 24 of the sets and from what I can tell, were put out between Friday and Sunday of last week (and the actual sales ad started on Sunday). Clearly, that isn’t going to last and once they gone…that’s it.

Plenty of pictures of some folks buying the whole kit and kaboodle (is that spelled right) and of course that really gets folks mad. Some saying they won’t open them (which makes the people saying but I wanted them to give to my kids to open mad), etc, etc, etc.

Tis the season…ho, ho, ho

For the record, mine are staying sealed. In my experience, things like Black Friday, exclusive bundles like this (regardless of the collectible) tend to have pretty good value down the line provided the actual item maintains relative.

Yeah, I checked my Target a couple days ago. The display was up and actually labeled at the $40 price point already. It was fully stocked but I didn’t want to clean it out. I took 5 to flip and 1 as a gift for my sister in law who loves Lorcana. They sold over the next day. Made a little bit of scratch. Thanks for posting about this!

That’s awesome! Glad you did well with them and that they were there!!! It was really a great little set and good value for those that love the game as well.

Black Friday is one of those days and events that has truly made me lose hope for the human race.

There was a Pokemon display at my Target by the Lorcana. It was as empty as the Lorcana was full.

Have you seen the Twilight Zone episode “The Shelter”? Imagine those same Black Friday shoppers, but instead of deals now fighting for the right to a single bomb shelter when Armageddon is supposedly immanent…

That sounds interesting, i got to check it out.

Btw, I went to a few targets this week and did not see the displays.

Went yesterday and ran into the third party stocking person (target outsources media and apparently toys/ collectibles) to third party vendor. She mentioned she had stocked some on Tuesday at a larger target (im in DC, she mentioned columbia heights specifically) but said smaller ones most likely will not have the black friday sets. They did have other Lorcana starter decks. I passed.
