Bad Idea

I dont know who Bolo is, but I already dislike him. BIG BOLO!

I haven’t seen, or heard from, ‘mr. bolo’ in quite some time. But I assure you that he is a complete ass hat.

He seems like the stereotypical YouTube guy that I hate.

He doesn’t know very much about comics. He’s all mouth, and no brain. He used to have to be corrected on a weekly basis because his ‘spec’ would be off. Eg. Citing wrong characters, wrong issues, and just plain being wrong quite often. Not like opinion wrong, but easily fact checked wrong. Complete ass hat.

I just got an email from Midtown that’s processing my First Printing version white label… it was so long ago, totally forgot I even pre-ordered from there. I hope these are still going for decent cash, I’ll definitely let mine go for that ROI profit margin…

Same here by the time we get them they’ll be selling for cover.

So… has anyone read Eniac 1? If so, is it good?

Someone going to staple both copies together and sell it as an error exclusive for a grand.

I follow this Bolo fella on Twitter. I think he has value as someone who throws out a bunch of ideas. Then that allows me to investigate and pick out what is useful. That’s my general approach to spec talking heads.

Damn I ordered it through tfaw and lately their shipments are all over the place, either the value is gonna drop or its gonna get harder to find. Either way I only paid $3 and probably gonna flip it when I get it

Haven’t read my copy yet, but, the book is really nice looking. Heavy, clean cardstock covers, and the art is really nice. The shop by me that was carrying them had a nice table top display, provided by the publisher, to put the books in while on sale at the store. :man_shrugging:

Re: bolo…every resource can be a good resource if you do your own personal due diligence. :+1::100:

I snapped pictures of every page on my phone to read tonight. Selling the “Not First Print” for around $23ish to cover my other stuff and waiting for my first print TFAW.

The dude at my LCS was totally buying into Bad Idea’s buzz. “They’re killing the speculators! They’re limiting purchases to 1 per customer.”

I said “no they are not, the first print is listed between $200 and $700.” Speculators may not have stacked tons a copies, but they just adjusted their price accordingly.

Then he said “well they aren’t doing multiple printings!” I then held up my “NOT First print” and said “what is this?”

In other news, I’ll let my iPhone 12 with pictures of the interiors go for $40,000. It’s a 1/1 digital ashcan with internet and cellular capabilities. Cgc graded option at $80,000, 9.8 guaranteed, because the points are made up
And nothing matters.

The shop by me that is carrying Bad Idea, has 3 different locations amongst 2 different cities. I went to the two shops in one of the cities and when I went to purchase a copy of Eniac #1 at the 1st location (the one I normally don’t go to), the kid said he couldn’t sell me Eniac because, according to my shop file, I had it on pre order at the 2nd shop (the one I normally frequent). So, that shop, at least, is being very strict on the ‘one per customer’ expectation. It definitely killed my flip prospects on the book. I’m keeping my one copy, and if I sell, I’ll sell the series as one, as I’m subscribed to one copy of all Bad Ideas books. I couldn’t resist as a comic reading fan.

The Bad Idea table top display also said ‘1 per reader’, or something to that effect, directly on the publishers display.

I should be getting my TFAW 1 copy I pre-ordered early last year. And I had each of my 2 sons order a 1st print. It’s good to have kids in different states!

I sold my first print. I’d take a not-a-first-print for a decent price just to own. I’d take yours @drunkwooky!

How much? Did you list before receiving it? Mine are coming Friday.

I’ve stopped openly discussing exact figures of stuff I’ve sold for various reasons in places where anyone with the internet can see. Hence stopping my, “Flipping,” list I would do. I can PM you how I went about selling my first print tho.

Mine sold on eBay for $23.99 to an international buyer. I’m good with that. My two Star Wars issues (HRA2 1:10 and HR3 Walker) at the LCS came out to that much, so I’m sitting even Steven today.
