If I understand Thor 34 correctly, Hela will become the black stone. All the zombies are from other worlds who died. Thanos knows what will eventually happen is his far future, he is just trying to speed things up. He will need to sacrifice Hela to create the stone.
I honestly forgot all about this when Cates completely fell off the face of Earth. Maybe he will come back for a big event with that.
I think Thor is ending and Al Ewing will take over on the new volume

for my upcoming article this week I noticed this “black gauntlet” with what must be this stone you’re referring to on the cover of issue 35.
