CGC vs CBCS vs PGX vs PSA

CBCS never really took advantage of CGCs follies to put themselves out in front. They’ve been content to be #2, and they will never with that’s attitude. And maybe that’s what turns a lot of collectors off. They’ve been around too long and not pushed ahead very much, so they have a stigma now.

Meanwhile a new grading company doesn’t have any of that baggage and if they play their cards just right, make some noise, call out CGC shenanigans for what they are unapologetically, people will pay attention…

Honestly I was a hardcore CBCS guy, verification witness, sent all my books to them, and then Beckett bought them out. It all changed. They really are content to be #2.

I have graded books from all three, and will send a book or two to PSA to have graded, mostly for preservation, but I do want one of the new slabs.

I am not a fan of lotteries. Over half of the books are worth less than what you pay in hopes of getting a grail. Odds are not in your favor.

Maybe they want it that way so when they screw up, it gets swept under the rug rather quickly over the #1 guys that get criticized for everything… :wink:

So apparently the red and gold box with the PSA logo on it is foil and it shimmers. Could be a very nice looking label when we see it in person.

Word on the streets is that PSA has reached out to influencers and have paid them “thousands” and free grading to pump…er I mean promote their product. Apparently Bry’s comics has mentioned that he’s been contacted for this but I can’t confirm because I blocked his channel because I can’t stand his face.

Others that have been contacted are Swagglehaus, Dennis from Wonderworld Comics and others. Just be aware that news and content about PSA is going to hit us hard and fast in the coming weeks and days. Just know that they are paid sponsors so tread carefully.

I am only going to say this once, I am going to be very clear to any and all vendors that are out there, including PSA, I am open to bribes.

man I should be more mad about the bribes and paid sponsor “content” from PSA but Im so annoyed with CGCs shenanigans I just want to see what PSA brings to the table

PSA comic grading prices lout. Ryan breaks down why it actually costs more for PSA grading than from CGC. Especially slimy is the 4% FMV where it’s actually hidden from the customer and in a lot of cases will be significantly more.

PSA is DOA. Can’t see this company overtaking CGC. Going to be a colossal failure imo.
