They always say such things at first but the end goal is to start to absorb it slowly…
Absolutely. Look what happened to SGC grading which they bought
They took 75% of their staff and office space to create PSA Florida
and SGC was downgraded to “boutique” brand. This is Becketts future.
So Beckett’s card grading and CBCS comic grading will both eventually just be PSA?
Correct, CBCS will cease to no longer exist and will die a quick death. One can say they were already dead but this is the final nail on the coffin. What’s left of the remaining staff and warehouses/office spaces will be absorbed into PSA,.
And if it isn’t a firm end goal at the start, some bean counter or exec comes along at some point and says, “hey, we can save money by consolidating or eliminating these duplicate services we have”.
CBCS wanted to get acquired. I wouldn’t be surprised if Beckett approached PSA first.
This might be what’s best…if they can’t compete with CHC separately…maybe they can combined.
CBCS slabs will be collectors items!
Didn’t have this on the bingo card, but if Beckett had wanted to be bought, it would explain the near cessation of CBCS advertising.
The CBCS brand is toast. Acquisitions like this always result in the buyer’s brand being the last one standing.
There are a bunch of Congress positions open next year for Mr Eichenbaum that his lying, P.OS., nonsensical, marketing B.S. would be far better suited for than heading this company.
So that will be as useful as pissing into the wind?
Ill never forget this Jackass stunt with the jetplane

If we all know one thing about our government, a strongly worded letter goes a very long way to getting things done…

This Patrick Ryan Rep must be into the card hobby to put i this level of detail…or have close friends who are.
He absolutely collects or his child collects that’s for sure. He knows about the PSA buyback scandal well enough that it pretty much confirms he’s in the hobby.
CGC sent an email out about the whole PSA and Beckett/CGC acquisition. Got it the other day. It was very dry and ended with a coupon.
