Looks like its a tie in for this

Preorder for the toy from online toy stores is 7/23

leading into a 4-issue crossover series with Shipwreck and an artifact on Cobra Island

This hobby will always baffle me.
Very few of the Quintana Abs cover in my area.
I had mine preordered but definitely won’t be enough here to meet demands.

I can’t remember though, was the Quintana hype train fully rolling when this was on FOC??? Clearly places ordered plenty, I’m just in a smaller market.

I preordered. Just now got out to some MA area comic shops. Not sure

The hype was pre-FOC for this one. My shop had 3 left at noon today. No idea how many they ordered. I grabbed one.

Yes. It was running at least a few weeks before this book was even announced….and it was announced well over a month prior to FOC.

I don’t know when the cover was reveled…but it was pre-FOC.

Everyone had many many weeks of notice.

I think things started going nuts first week of April. I have sales of Detective 1006 and 1007 for big dollars on 4/11.

The whatnot debacle was on April 11th.

@Anthony posted this on 4/21.

Third eye still has copies at the link above. And save 15% by using code CHU2026

Anyone find this at their stores?

I hit 3 shops today. The only Quintana Abs Bats I found were the two I pre-requested. All the A covers I saw (at all 3 shops) had a white blemish/scratch just below the first staple. Anyone else notice that? I was on the fence about picking up a C (Bean) cover…but ultimately did not. I did grab the 1:25 for $11 (after discount).

9 copies of cover A of ABM 22 at my LCS. That’s it.

But my LCS wouldn’t even know who Quintana is to know to order copies.

I had a really bad day at work and just couldn’t hit my one LCS on Wednesday. I went after work today and they had close to 50 copies of AB 22 cover A left and 7 of the Quintana cover. There was another cover there too but I’m too tired to look up who drew that one. I picked up a cover A and one Quintana. I was surprised to see the non A covers still there.

Brett Bean maybe.

Seems like a bunch of retailers are going to lose money on this Dungeon Crawler Carl reprint. There are 84 covers. Mostly exclusives.

But, according to League of Comic Geeks, this issue was the 69th most popular pull this week. Far from scientific, but it does directionally indicate popularity or lack thereof.

I love how Vault can’t help but destroy a good thing when they fall into it. 84 covers, $10 price tag, they can’t help but be the authors of their own destruction. I’m sticking with Cover A in this case, continue to hold out hope the regular series is done by another publisher, as I have to hold my nose to buy this series from these guys. Although, I like that low popularity may help value in the end.

Here’s what I really hate. This book was made into a webtoon, and the comic is the print version of that webtoon. Very anime feeling. That’s not the book at all. I don’t want a Manga version of DCC. I want the original book version. Less cartoony. More violent. The novels are hugely violent. It’s just Carl and Donut stomping on creatures and splattering blood all over.

The people buying these are not the people on League of Comic Geeks.

I only bought the blank variant and avoided the rest of the covers that come out tomorrow. New fans are joining the facebook group daily. More people are discovering the books. I’m not sure how many of the book fans are or will become fans of the comic. A comic book that became a show like Invincible drove the price of the comic up. But starting as a book then becoming a show / comic it’s hard to say if DCC comics will rise or fall flat.

The Denham (pink) variant seems to be holding out best of the FCBD issues.
