I swung by a shop near my house. He was sorting the books for the week and let me look at them. He said he anticipates a lot of people will be upset. I agree, it’s noticeable even if you aren’t a stickler.

Yeah - some image books obviously use the same printer. Have the same spine creasing and back spine color loss streaks as the DC damages this week.
Yuck, wonder what I’m going to find tomorrow. I can deal with a non-color breaking crease, but I definitely don’t want streaks.
I went through about 50-60 copies of Abs Bat 20 to find a 9.8 contender. Anyone read that DC is working with “CGC on a solution to this issue”?
I saw one article mentioned they want grading companies to take this issue into account. If the whole point is that they objectively grade things it doesn’t matter if an entire print run of an issue was damaged, there just will never be a 9.8/9.9 or whatever. If we start having some kind of grading curve because a print run had damage the system falls apart.

Final issue of the first season of, “Exquisite Corpses,” has me excited a little for this week, at least. Been a great read. Plus, my birthday is tomorrow so it’s like new comic book day is celebrating with me, heh!

Anytime a Hyde Street issue actually comes out, it’s worth a trip to the shop. They are going with the “what if we tease a big story line but only put out 1 issue every six months” marketing plan.

Is anyone picking up the Capes series? Seems like it could be a sleeper hit with some long term potential heat down the line.
I’ll be picking up Capes, I’m also pretty interested to see how Ultimates ends. Out of all the Ultimate lines, that one has been pretty consistently good for me. Final fight with Hulk is a good way to end it I think
I will have spoilers on Ultimates tonight. Last two issues really didn’t set up well for spoilers though.
I’ve been enjoying reading, “Capes,” and if it gets any spec value I welcome that too.
Every couple of issues there’s some new characters introduced. Now normally new characters nowadays don’t get me out of bed but it’s related to the Invincible universe. Could pay off down the road with Invincible collectors if Kirkman decides to do anything with the characters.
Also relatively lower print run. Checks all the boxes.

Are there any new characters in Hornsby & Halo #0? I can’t remember what was discussed earlier. Maybe I’m thinking of Rocketfellers or something.
Rocketfellers had 1st Trillion Dollar Kid.
Also the first couple pages had cameo shots of other people from that Universe. Dead Tones, Unbelievaboy, and Dr. Moreau’s creatures.
I imagine Hornsby & Halo will have something similar, featuring some of the other characters.
I don’t think my shop will put out 50 new comics total tomorrow…and that includes multiples.
They don’t even qualify for thank you variants anymore, they order so few copies of new books.
