Yeah the brianiacs at Marvel studios killed Riri specs dead. Interesting that they’re giving it another go with her. Heard that people didn’t like the actress that played Riri in the films. Felt that she needed to be younger like in the books and/or be more attractive.

It’s funny as I think the actress that plays Shuri (Letitia Wright) is so good, but she also would have been cast just as perfectly as Riri Williams also.
I’m sure it isn’t easy. Finding a 15 year old would likely be daunting to capture the youthful brilliance,spirit and energy, zest, wide eyed look at the world, that sort of makes Riri fun and interesting in the comics It’s just sort of a big difference and I think it mattered on screen. It’s those attributes that sort of makes Riri…well…Riri. Just my opinion.
Are there a significant amount of true “fans” of the character whereby they can’t get enough stories and reading about Riri?
I recognize there are “true fans” out there, but the true fan numbers seem to be consistent with the value of her comics - i.e. not a whole lot.
