Spent some time digging today.
Thanks for the heads up. 32 comics for $22. Paid .70 for it.
Congrats! I haven’t been able to find one myself.
Mine will be for sale shortly.
I sold two books today.
Nightwing 111 Dan Mora
and…
wait for it…
A second copy of Nightwing 111 Dan Mora.
I’ll keep buying them if they keep selling!
And, the buyers were two women (different states). I thought that was sorta unique. 99% of sales are to guys.
Yup. My sales this past week…I keep finding this book and it sells within hours…
Two of them were to the same person…and I think Imsold one to that person a few months ago too…weird.
Ladies do love Nightwing!
Last sales were around $20. Only copy listed was for $90z. so I listed it at my “make me sell it to you” price…
And it sold. Was going to get it signed by Mora at NYCC if it didn’t…I have others he can sign, unless they sell too…
I might have sold my moras too cheap. No regrets sold them for $40-60 which I got for cover price or less. Seems like these moras are getting harder to find as they were cover Bs from not heavily ordered titles. Could see further price appreciation as they get more scarce in the market. Don’t think people are buying these up to spec on them. They want it in their collection and not letting it go.
Didn’t even see this one sold yesterday…$30 more than mine and rougher shape. I would have upped my price to $100.
Crazy someone bought it before my copy, as mine was better.
Those sales are absolutely crazy…
Yea I’m not getting the Mora craze either. He’s got great work. However it’s strange there are so many covers he does but there are a few that get these prices.
I picked up half of the Worlds finest run at $1 a piece and saw the #6 A cvr was $40-50. It’s not 1st or key anything.
It is odd what books hit and which miss. For instance this Dark Crises Red Canary book. I know it was heavily speculated on when it came out, but it’s a nice cover. I guess not a popular enough character…there are a ton on eBay…
I actually have a couple signed by Dan Mora from NYCC from a few years ago. I’ll have to list a signed copy and see happens. He’ll be there again this year…I’ll make a point to ask him if he realizes some of his covers command high aftermarket prices.
His art has grown on me the more books I acquire. Getting tougher to let them go.
Starting to feel the same way about letting a few go. some of them are great. I’m looking forward to the Transformers work he’s going to do.
That’s how I’ve felt with the Yasmine Putri books that got hot. I really like her work. I overpriced a few, so that if they didn’t sell, then I’d get to keep them. Most of them still sold.
I’m trying to figure this whole thing out. It seemed like it maybe started with Nightwing/Red Hood Putri books, and I think it started in China for some reason. I sold a ton overseas, and I think that got the US market interested. Then it shifted over to Mora Nightwing books. But, now other Mora books are selling.
The theme seems to be great covers + popular, but not A list characters + B covers with smaller print runs. And, almost entirely DC.
2025 is just bonkers. Marvel books are rarely the hot ones. Spec on characters is on life support if not entirely dead.
But, I love it. It’s usually pretty easy to find these books and make some money off them.
All the Tubers talk about is marvel this and Doom speculation that…blind bag store comic con exclusive ratio virgin variant blah blah blah…
Let them keep talking. Meanwhile we’ll keep grabbing cheap books and flipping them for 1000% profit.
I’m ok with that.
It may be confirmation bias on my part, but I feel like Mora has quietly become a superstar without the level of buzz that normally brings. I’m curious if Transformers is going to continue that or impede it.
Love the Putri/Mora artist trends, more of this please!
