I do not even read Bleeding cool, too many popups and click bait articles. overwhelms my browser.
Something not a lot of people seem to be paying attention to with the Tim Fox news dominating coverage.
And watch for another appearance of Tim Fox in a Future State story in Batman Black and White #3, coming to comics shops on February 23! This story, written by John Ridley with art by Olivier Coipel, introduces us to the new Batmanās ā well, sheās not exactly Robin! Hereās a sneak peak at this storyā¦
Another interesting tidbit is this cover is clearly Tim with the goateeā¦but Frankies cover on issue 1 has no goatee and looks more like Luke.
Anthony in the solicit for Dark Detective 3, which has the next Batman in the main story, has a backup story where Grifter and Luke Fox fight crime at night. So could be what issue 1 refers to with him out at night. Could be a red herring.
But a tad odd to take the time to try to trick people in issue 1, but ruin your own surprise by releasing the reveal cover to issue 2 before 1 comes out. Desperate to sell books I guess.
Iām assuming this is what people have been referring to with Maps first app as Robin in this issue. Been hearing that for a couple weeks now.
Guess thatās why store variants arent really a factor in spec all the time. The creative license allows for them to not be story accurate with the covers. Covers A/B for the win in this case it looks like.
Additionally they may not have known. Iām not sure that the artist gets story details from the publisher. So he may have drawn it generic.
Of note the reveal cover is on issue 2, not issue 1. So will be interesting if it picks up any steam. Wonāt be first app or first cover.
So whatās first cover if not issue 2? Youāre cou ting the store Exsclusive?
Next batman issue 1 heās on both covers A & B as Batman.
Great, another Robin thatās not a Robin theyāll just eventually use to kill off and someone else comes in toe replaceā¦ Cause DC loves killing Robinās.
One thing to point out that we probably all shouldāve saw comingā¦
Ridley was supposed to start writing Batman in issue 101 and introduce the new 5G Batman before 5G was scrapped.
And ācoincidentallyā Tim Fox re-appears in Batman 101 after being gone 9 years.
Robin Queen?
Iām pretty lost when it comes to any alternate Batman stuff and these charactersā¦
In the immortal words of Vasquezā¦Look Man! I only need to know one thing:where they are?
(and where to buy em)
Good catch @RipCityGamer. Batman Black and White #3 first Future State (not) Robin (ok his side kick) potentially and great Joshua Middleton cover.
I got a mint Batman 313 from a seller in mexico of all places a few months back, when tim was mentioned in warzone. Is there a future for this beyond this mini and I should get this puppy slabbed or is this a one off and sell while collectors are scrambling? This is a really hard high grade find.
I normally am the one who says to sell stuff while itās hot and only keep your personal favorites for a PC. I donāt keep much around in the hopes itāll get hot, which had bit me on the butt when something I sold for a decent profit goes nuclear. Therefore, Iād actually exercise caution here and maybe slab it. I could see this getting hotterā¦
Midtown has restocked DCs Very Merry Multiverse (Limit 1) $20

@Anthony posted on main site with previews if anyone missed it:
Lmao, what a āstealā from Midtown. I feel like thats some crap a small shop would do not one as big as midtown. They did the same thing with Batgirl 50 and and Invincible Iron Man 3.
I feel like theyāve been doing it a bit more often since the shutdowns earlier this year. And if they need to do that to help make up for retail stores taking a hit, I understand and am fine with it.
Midtown has definitely been doing that more often. I felt it was pretty lame doing that with DC books while they were one of the distributors.
The next Batman 1 is starting to sell out, Iām starting to become pretty optimistic about there being a black batman because a lot of people who arenāt into comics will be thinking āWow there is a black batman now! Look at what happened to the first black spider-man. This has potential.ā
