how dare they!
It was there last night as of about Midnight EST. They may remove items on FOC at 1am est (12 central).
You go to the January previews and search Geiger and it popped up.
I ordered my copies from State of Comics though. They donât have it listed anymore.
Those were the only places I found it last night.
DIRTY PICKS FOR 1/26/25 FOC
Not much exciting this FOC week. And with football games on just going to put out some quick highlights.
Covers

Rogue the Savage Land #2 (of 5) (J Scott Campbell Variant)
I feel like the point of this series is to pump out sexy Rogue covers.
Â
Rogue the Savage Land #1 (2nd Printing)
As I was sayingâŠ
Â
Â
No one should be surprised this is going to a 4th printing. Beware, there is a 1:20 incentive (different art)Â
New Series
ÂHidden in the furthest reaches of space, the planet of Amzot is legendary for its fabled riches - and for the terrible fates that befall anybody who seeks to exploit them. Those who survive their encounters tell blood-chilling tales of horrific, imposing monsters that guard the mysterious world - yet the lure of its abundant resources is too great to resist. Raiders and pirates continue to come from across the galaxy, and there is only one force strong enough to stop their constant attacks - The HerculoidsHanna-Barbera classic cartoon is back. Not the first comic book go around, though. Unfortunately none of Dynamiteâs 1000 variant covers are that exciting. Would prefer one have more of a style like the original cartoon. Waiting for a 2nd print personally.
Â
Â
New limited series. Zatanna has her fans, Iâm not one of the, but I like the Sozomaika variant. Comes in foil too!Â
Thatâs itâŠlight on the wallets, at least.
Whatâs everyone else eyeballing this FOC?
I actually ordered the Liefeld variant of Herculoids was mg only FOC book this week unless Void Rivals 17 is on FOC?
I loved Herculoids as a kiddo. Great nostalgia factor for me.
I did not see it on Lunarâs FOC.
Looks to be next weekend.
House of Slaughter #30, last issue of the series which typically goes under ordered. The crap going on at Diamond may influence that as well.
Itâs Groundhogâs Day! And unfortunately Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. But before you get all discouraged about another 6 weeks of winter, just know Phil is actually better at getting it wrong than right (i.e., heâs right less than 40% of the time going back 150 yearsâŠ
So I think scientist should look into thatâŠmaybe adjust the algorithm theyâre using and align it with more current data. Or yank a different animal from their home.
But have you seen the process? The guy is trying to sleepâŠmeanwhile, outside his burrow loud music is playing, people jumping up and down, screaming âPHIL PHIL PHIL!!!â Then they knock on his door, break into his house and yank him out of his beddingâŠholding him up high, naked for all to seeâŠeveryone screaming at himâŠletâs just say I donât think itâs his shadow that frightens him back into slumberâŠ

COVERS
The current Superman arc is not the first time Lois has been Superwoman and, nor is this her first cover. But it may be one of the best. Just wish these were not card stock as theyâre very unforgiving and subject to spine tick and scratches. Dirty Dâs cover of the week.Â
Â
Wouldnât be an FOC without a Mark Spears cover highlighted these days. This one I believe he may have used a photo of Mel Gibsonâs William Wallace for inspirationâŠ.Â
Â
Not sure if this got pushed out a week. It doesnât come out until March 26th, but Iâll highlight it here. Godzilla âteam upsâ seem to be all the rage at the moment. To the point itâs overdone. But this homage to a vintage boxing advertisement is pretty cool. And who doesnât like a good Thing vs. cover?Â
Â
The ADAMANTINE saga reaches new heights, with a shock twist and surprising return youâll have to read to believe! The GOLDEN metal means death for WOLVERINEâŠbut is it also the worldâs salvation?Solicitation promises a âkey appearanceâ in this issue. Normally publishers shouldnât be telling collectors what is a key or not, but you canât go wrong with this Platt homage of Wolverine 88. I believe the character holding up Wolverine is Romulus, so that may be the key appearance theyâre referring to. Or maybe itâs an entirely new character or someone else. Issue 6 comes out this week.
Â
Â
I think weâre on the 3rd printing of this facsimile. This time instead of a foil variant theyâre offering an Alex Ross variant which is the same art used for a variant dust jacket for the 1st Omnibus. They really need to start printing these in silver age format, though, if theyâre going to keep coming out with new printingsâŠgive the fans what they want!Â
POP Kill #1 (of 4) (Cover D - Stelfreeze Explicit)
Not going to post a pic of this one as itâs NSFC (Not Safe For CHU). Even the âcensoredâ version is a bit riskeâ. But itâs getting some attention pre FOC. Could be one people talk about for a while.
Â
READS
ÂThe shadows of Gotham extend and darken as Asemaâs bladed grip on the cityâs underworld tightens. Now, while Batman struggles to keep his city safe, he begins to suspect that he has uncovered the identity of this bloodthirsty menaceâŠand it may be someone very close to Bruce Wayne. Many have been talking about this arc in Detective being pretty good. It introduced a new villain, Asema, and this issue supposedly will reveal the identity.
Â
INDY SPOTLIGHT
ÂIn 1982, a tranquil town becomes the backdrop for a series of eerie and unsettling events. During a routine evening patrol, Sheriff Depero encounters a chilling scene: a blood-soaked woman dashes toward him, screaming that her life is in danger. Horror stands at the gates of the city! Not much going on with Indyâs this week. But this one is from KeenspotâŠand I think Diamond was their only distributor (doesnât appear Lunar or PRH are offering this book). So this could be interesting as Diamond could close its doors for good before this book gets distributed.
You can always order these direct from Keenspot. If anything there are some creepy covers!
Â
PICK OF THE WEEK
MARVEL RIVALS VARIANTSRound two of the Marvel Rivals Netease variants are on FOC. Now, shops arenât likely to be caught sleeping this time around, so donât expect good flips. But if youâre collecting these best not to take the chance and just pre-order them. Nothing else really speaks to me this week, so for that reasons these are the Dirty D Picks-of-the-Week.
Â
Â
ÂÂ
ÂÂ
ÂThatâs it for this week. Super Bowl next weekend!! Have a great week!
I watch the Groundhog Day celebration that takes place in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania every year live on Youtube. The whole charade:the scrolls, the guys in the groundhog club have goofy ass names, the outfits - its all just looks like a silly good time. I keep telling myself that the wife and I will go there next year, and the following year, we dontâŠ
Back to comicsâŠ
to add to the Alex Ross Fantastic Four cover, itâs was also an Alex Ross store exclusive cover to Fantastic Four #1 vol. 6.
last thingâŠ
Godzilla vs Fantastic Four #1 is on FOC for next Monday, 2/10
Happy Super Bowl Day, CHU! Hopefully the actual game is more exciting than this weeks FOC picks! There are not a lotâŠpretty low scoring game this week! So this will be quick.
COVERS
Poison Ivy #31 (Kyuyong Eom Variant)
A little talk on the forums this past week about Eom. Not familiar personally but probably because there isnât much (if any) of this persons work for DC or Marvel.
Amazing Spider-Man #69 (Netease Marvel Rivals Variant)
This weekâs Rivals variant goes to ASM 69. I couldnât tell you what skin this is (Penny Parker & Sp//dr?) as I donât play the game (probably the only one on the planetâŠ). I looked online but found nothing. If you know, please mention in the comments.
GI Joe #1 (3rd Printing - Kendrick Kunkka Lim)
I still like the Sozo cover for issue 1, but Kunkka Lim giving her a run for her money on drawing Baroness as a JoeâŠ
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Fantastic Four #30 (Spoiler Variant)
FANTASTIC THREE! After Ben Grimm has suffered a terrible (and very public) defeat at the hands of Doom, he has never been more vulnerable - and soon takes a shocking shortcut he wonât be able to undo! This is one Thing and Alicia story you wonât soon forget!
Thinking this cover tells the story above.
ALL FAX
Notable facsimiles on FOC this week.
Batman #612 (Facsimile Edition (Foil Variant))
A nice Jim Lee Batman vs Superman cover in the Hush series.
Brave and the Bold #30 (Facsimile Edition - Foil Variant))
Sometimes you wonder âwhy?â. This book is thrb3rd justice league and first Amazo and Professor Ivo. Seems like there are about 1000 other gold/silver/bronze age books that should get a fax before thisâŠbut whatever.
Not sure why this book didnât deserve the foil treatment. First Wolverine solo story by Claremont, and a nice Byrne cover. An affordable book though, if you want to pass on the fax.
NEW ONES
THE TEEN TITANS GET ARTISTIC! Say it ainât so! The Titansâ comic bookâcanceled?! Desperate for a relaunch, the Titans remake themselves as everything from transforming robots to artsy, black-and-white indie comics characters. But when DC still doesnât bite, the Titans turn to more drastic measuresâŠlike sabotage.
A $2.99 cover price is hard to beat. Comics need to don pre of this for the kids!!
INDY SPOTLIGHT
Washed-up actors Derek and Alex have been best friends ever since playing teen superheroes âSwallowâ and âBuzzardâ in the â90s TV show Power Pals . Wait, youâve never heard of it? Donât worry, youâre not alone; it was canceled after three episodes. But that small taste of fame left them hungry for more, and theyâve been trying to get back on the Hollywood train ever since. After being fired from their studio security jobs and dropped by their agent, the middle-aged pair decide to don their old costumes, and thrust themselves back into the public eye, walking the Hollywood Boulevard alongside the popular cosplayers. When a video of the duo defending tourists from being badgered by a pair of rip-off characters goes viral, the attention inspires them to fight more crime. But when their low-level crime-fighting inadvertently disrupts the plans of a crazed crime boss, their friendship will undergo the ultimate test, and it, or they, may not survive long enough to enjoy their new found fame.
New series by Dark Horse. Something fun/different.
Parting (or partying) thoughts
Thatâs it for this week. Nothing really stood out as a pick of the week.
Enjoy the game!
It is a slushy wet Sunday where I amâŠSuper Bowl is over (as of the first quarterâŠsorry (not sorry) Mahomes fans and Swifties). March Madness and spring training is still a few weeks outâŠnot much incentive to go out, so that just means spending a little time going through whatâs on FOC this week.
This week is really reprint/fax heavy. I wonât hit them all, but pick out the ones I feel are worth mentioning and why. Otherwise itâs covers and a few stories this week. Pick of the week shouldnât surprise anyone who follows the CHU forums, but we might see our first Drek pick in a long whileâŠ
COVERS
Spawn #362 (Jeff Monk Variant)
No one really talks about Jeff Monkâs work. But every so often one of his covers just subtly separates itself from the pack. Thatâs this weekâs Spawn book. And for $2.99, how can you pass a good cover up. There is also a B&W virgin variant (wellâŠit has green eyes) which is just as good. I personally prefer trade dress, however I see the B&W as a great book for getting a signature (i suggest gold or red penâŠunless you can match the green eyesâŠthat would be killer!).
Spawn #362 (Jeff Monk Virgin Variant)
For $2.99âŠwhy not grab both?! These are a tie for Dirty Dâs cover of the week!!!
SPOILER ALERT
Transformers #18 (Cover F - Johnson & Spicer Variant)
Just about every cover for TF 18 has âspoilerâ associated with itâŠbut only one seems to spoil anythingâŠand itâs no longer spoiled because the character debuted in issue #17. But of all these covers, this one is the one worth grabbing as itâs the first cover for Shredhead. Iâm guessing the name is a nod to Deathâs Head, who also debuted in Transformers UK comic magazine issue #113.
Anyway, hereâs a quick background which ties into a another pick later on hereâŠ
Cliffjumper, left behind on Cybertron, meets up with the ragtag Autobot resistance, and is carrying the sparks from his fallen clan. There is enough left over to create an entirely new Transformer to join the Autobot ranks. And wants to take them to the Well of Sparks, a place where new Transformers are born. They fight their way behind enemy lines to the Well, and when the Well requests a secondary form, Cliffjumper provides the wreckage of human ally Carlyâs damaged van. The Well of Sparks then creates a new Transformer from these pieces, and as
he emerges through the smoke proclaimed his name as Shredhead.
Anyway, if you want to know more, I suggest checking out the Screen Rant article. Very few Transformers 1st appearances command a premium, but this could be a sleeper hit down the road given this series has been popular with the fans so far.
NETEASE VARIANTS
Hereâs this weekâs Marvel Rivals variants.
Avengers #24 (Netease Marvel Rivals Variant)
One World Under Doom #2 (of 9) (Netease Marvel Rivals Variant)
Psylocke #5 (Netease Marvel Rivals Variant)
JUST THE FAX
Batman Adventures #12 (Facsimile Edition - Foil Variant)
Iâm a little surprised this got a foil variant, because there was already a foil of this as a NYCC âexclusiveâ in 2023âŠI would be curious how they compareâŠbut I would think this kills the value of that bookâŠ
Saga of the Swamp Thing #37 (Facsimile Edition - Foil Variant)
This one has me a bit confusedâŠI thought it was solicited a few weeks agoâŠbut shows up again. It has a foil variant (above) but also a Mondo variant (below) which is like an homage (?) as well as an action figure variant of John ConstantineâŠit is his first appearance so thatâs kinda cool. Well, do what you wish with that informationâŠ
Saga of the Swamp Thing #37 (Facsimile Edition - Mondo Variant)
Saga of the Swamp Thing #37 (Facsimile Edition - Super Powers Variant)
NOTABLE REPRINTS
Lots of reprints this week. Wonât cover them all, but here are some highlights.
Transformers #12 ((2nd Printing) Cover A - Vortex)
I will never get tired of these Jason Howard covers. This one is the Combaticon Vortex.
Transformers #12 ((2nd Printing) Cover B - Carly & Shredhead Van)
This one is the sneaky one. This is the human/artist Carly and her stylinâ van that becomes the body of the new character Shredhead. If the new transformer becomes a favorite, this cover could be sought afterâŠand because itâs not a classic transformer cover I can see it not being heavily orderedâŠ.
Transformers #14 ((2nd Printing) Cover A - Hiss-Scream)
I donât know what you call this. Itâs literally a mashup of a Hiss tank and Starscream. So Iâm calling it âHiss-ScreamââŠ(kinda has a ring to it). But itâs not the first cover of this monstrosityâŠ.so donât get too excited.
Transformers #14 ((2nd Printing) Cover B - Swindle Variant)
Ah, the Combaticon Swindle. The only decepticon who was a bigger backstabber than Starscream himself. One of my favorite characters as he always made plans a bit interestingâŠ
Sometimes you just have to LOLâŠdidnât we just have a 10th printing with 10 variant covers?! Well, itâs still goingâŠand it may not ever endâŠbut I actually do like this cover. Maybe this is itâŠ.(yes, weâll be talking about the 12th printing in about 6 weeksâŠ)
So nothing in particular about this other than the book seems to be picking up more of a following lately. So some of the reprints could be sought after later. I like this cover better than the 1st print, so grabbing it for the read-n-stash myself.
READS
Speaking of reading Geiger, this cover was a spoiler cover until issue 10 came out. It features the new Glowing Woman, Ash Arden.
Per Geoff Johnâs & Gary Frank:
âThe response to Ashley Ardenâs debut has been phenomenal. We canât wait to share more of her story in the rest of this arc.â
âThis story only gets more explosive with each issue. If you thought #10 and #11 were big, itâs just the beginning.â
A heart-to-heart between Damian and Jason Todd, and Jasonâs subsequent demystifying of what it means to be Robin, has left the son of Batman questioning his place and his future. Now, with Memento close to delivering a killing blow on Batman, the Dark Knight needs his son more than everâŠbut will Robin answer the call?
Love the Javier Fernandez covers in this arc, featuring Memento. Also curious on Jasonâs take on what being Robin meansâŠDamian has always been on that slippery slope like his predecessorâŠ
NEW ONES
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe III #1 (April Poolâs Day âBlankâ Variant)
THE TRILOGY CONCLUDES! First, Deadpool killed every hero in the Marvel Universe⊠Then he killed every hero in another Marvel Universe⊠This time heâs going after the worst of the worst, a whole Multiverse of Marvelâs greatest gone bad!
This probably is more for the coverâŠitâd make a cool book to get sketches and signatures on. Not your typical blank variant.
PICK OF THE WEEK
Time is having a crisis. Mingling in the red-light district, you can find actual cavemen, medieval knights, and cyborg soldiers on leave from World War IV. Victorian debutantes amble their way into cell phone stores, confused and bewildered (what is a data plan?). On their way to work, bleary-eyed commuters get trapped in time-loops, assaulted by alternate-reality versions of themselves, and try to avoid post-apocalyptic wastelands. And LOOK: the 3:15 bus just took a wrong turn⊠into the neolithic era.
An ongoing, zig-zagging anthology series about the compromised clicks of our clocks-full of one-shot stories both beautiful and ugly, tragic and redemptive, surreal and somehow all too familiar.
Gives off some Ice Cream Man vibes. Looking forward to the wackiness and chaos this one promises. Some buzz around this oneâŠand for those reasons this is the Dirty D Pick-of-the-Week!
Drek of the Week
The book to get was the second printâŠmaybe the first print cover A. But there is really nothing special hereâŠtypical Geiger skull headâŠitâll probably have a higher print run than the second print as well. So donât expect much. Not feeling it here.
Parting thoughts
This is going to be a rough week on my wallet. Enjoy!
I have heard that Absolute Batman #6 may be the surprise first appearance of Absolute Joker, more than that cameo from issue 1.
while introducing a few new elements to come in arc 2.
Could beâŠ
That Spawn 362 cover C Monk variant is freakin AMAZING !!!
And this is his FIRST cover work !!
I couldâve sworn Iâve seen his name attached to some other coversâŠlike Star WarsâŠseemed very familiar. But searching nothing comes up.
His web page makes no mention of this being his first coverâŠfound an interview from 2023 that he says he hasnât had anything published yet.
So I think you are correct.
Image, in particular Spawn, seems to be giving some artist like Spears their first shot at open order covers. Good for them!
Hereâs something I came across last nightâŠwasnât able to find anyone that as offering it.
Not sure whatâs going to happen with FCBD eitherâŠ
This could be one of those books to keep an eye out for on FCBD for a quick FoMo flip. It didnât get solicited at Diamond with the initial batch of FCBD books so it could get overlooked.
There was a post somewhere (I thought it was either by McFarlane or Monk) congratulating him on his very first cover. I know I saw it, as it was what made me aware of it and post in the cool cover thread. Darned if I can find it anywhere now though??? Maybe it was a random fan post of his tha showed in my feed.
I love that cover and am happy we saw it. I have Spawn titles on my pull list but not all covers & would have missed it. Shops around here certainly arenât going deep on anything over A covers now.
