Dirty D's F.O.C

It should be a lenticular or acetate cover…switching between AF 15 art and movie still.

Hire me marvel!!! I’ll save you!!!

Sadly one facsimile will not right the ship.

There is no reason either company shouldnt constantly reprint these big books. Stores would always order them. They are evergreen sellers.

The writing is so bad at Marvel, they should just take Amazing Spider-man and rerelease facsimile editions of issues 1 through 50, one a month until they are done. Skip a few of the non essential issues. But that would keep everyone buying for about 2-4 years. All those first appearances of Spidey’s rogue gallery in facsimiles would be sellers. And release the issues necessary to finish the story arcs as needed too.

DC should do it with Batman. Issues 1 through 3 in facsimile would sell.

Man of Steel #1???

It’s mind boggling what they choose over an early Action Comics cover/story or a classic like Detective 168.

Who is making these decisions to waste paper?

I think both companies are trying to roll out the big reprints (aka big keys) slowly. They don’t want to dry up the well too quickly.

I’ve been saying forever Marvel should just reprint the facsimiles for ASM every issue from AF15 to ASMs 300. I would buy them all each month. Image does that for the Walking Dead and those still sell well.

Facsimiles at my shop outsells the new releases except for Abs Batman, about 10-1. There’s always a stack of 25-50 issues of facsimiles on release day compared to 2-5 copies of each new comic. My shop knows what sells.

ya why facsimile this issue? Nuts! and what retailer would order any of these outside of a special order?

I read the first issue of Red Roots and it was well written. After reading it I have no idea where they are going with it. I’m hoping all the praise from industry people is based on more than reading just the first issue.

That’s a lot of Indie #1’s. Anybody have any premonitions on these? It’s like picking penny stocks this FOC. Any could hit; any could miss.

I preordered some copies of red roots just so I wouldn’t have to deal with the fomo crowd at release. So, I prefomo’d into the book. The 1 hour Felici interview didn’t say much of anything about the series. Oh well.

yea this one is being pumped. Mignola doing a cover for it is interesting but even the synopsis was one sentence so a lot of guessing on this one…

That was my thinking as well…a lot of “praise” but like White Sky image holding the details tight to the chest.

I can totally see this one getting wrapped up in a little FOMO with help from people pumping it up again week of release. I ordered just one copy I think just in case it’s hard to find around me.

This one didn’t make the cut (cover spec). Reminded me of the Superman 32 manga variant….but did not “wow” me like that cover did. This cover is mostly “meh”. What happened to Lois’s nose?

Another “honorable mention” that didn’t make the cut.

Mostly because I was already done and didn’t feel like going back to add another book.

For one, only two covers (A and a 1:10 incentive).
Secondly, it says before FOC distribution may be allocated given its distributed through Diamond (?) and you know what that does to some people…

It sounds like it could be interesting, worst case.

I’m fired up about Red Roots only because the last time di Felici wrote and drew a book, it was Kroma, and that’s still one of my favorites.

I did the same thing. Pre-ordered 3 copies of the A cover and 3 copies of the Mignola cover, just in case if it does anything. Looks interesting enough with a great creative team.

I’m not doing the Wednesday warrior fomo thing on release day. It’s always a hit or miss if there are any shelf copies. Always best to pre-order to avoid the crowds. You don’t have to hit on all your picks to come out ahead.
