Posts in another thread prompted this. I love hearing about the niche covers, topics, topics that people collect. I know we have our favorite artists and titles and such, but is there something a bit off the beaten path you love hunting for?
For me, I love Scarecrow/Halloween/Jack O’Lantern type covers and art.
I collect tentacle covers with females. I also like the Jack O’lantern covers with a woman sitting on them. I posted some of the tentacle covers I have in another thread. Here are some more I acquired. I think I paid around $10 for the signed Crashdown and the Looney Tunes #76 was less than $10 before the covid craze. Cheap and fun.
I’m always looking to buy John Wayne covers where he is in only his boxer/briefs…maybe a a wife beater. Wouldn’t hurt if he was eating soup. So far, nothing!
Funny you should bring up John Wayne.
I actually buy Clint Eastwood covers - Rawhide and Four Color Comics in particular.
The man is a legend amongst legends amongst legends for close to 70 freakin’ years!!.
… and he just hit his 95th birthday yesterday. Which is pretty incredible
About 10 years ago My daughter was all about Thomas the train. These minis started coming out at that time in blind bags. We pretty much have the entire set of original characters…:there are quite a few.
I didn’t get into the “themes” except when DC superheroes came out. I think there’s an SDCC exclusive set. But I just chased what was in the blind bags.
I haven’t looked in quite a while to see what characters I don’t have, but I did end up with quite a few. And there may be “variants” as well as they kept reproducing them in different waves.
@gbess careful, you’ll get sucked in pretty quick! Unfortunately I don’t see them in stores anymore. Used to be Toys R Us and Walmart.
When I have a free moment (maybe later this week) I’ll line them up for a better photo. Catwoman (Millie) may be my favorite. But classic Batman & Robin are pretty sweet as well.
