I thought the ASM story started to pick up when the Sin Eater story started. I enjoyed reading that.
Well, imagine this: Itâs your birthday and your wife just woke you up in the most glorious of ways (This is Venom 1-6). The kids, if you have them, are out spending the night with friends / family, and she has promised you that she is going to make you your most favorite meal for dinner.
You see all the ingredients in the fridge and cupboards, and youâre excited (this is Venom 9 and Absolute Carnage). You know youâre in for one hell of a treat. She even picked up cheesecake for dessert (Virus)!
You go lay down for a nap, youâve been working long hours lately. You wake up to her cooking and it smells so good(WoV: Wratih) you practically taste it already. You walk into the kitchen and there is she in brand new lingerie, she looks incredible (King in Black 1-3) and this whets your even more. She plates up, walks the dinner over to the table and says âDinner is served.â You sit down and take a big olâ bite of this highly anticipated meal andâŠ
⊠WHAM!!! Dog turd. She fed you a dog turd for dinner. Sure, it was seasoned pretty well, and the side dishes were decent, but hero of the meal was repulsive. You just cannot believe this is how your day ends. You look back at the earlier parts of your day and ask âWhy? Why spoil me just to feed me a dog turd?â
This is why you are hearing complaints about Catesâ Venom run now. Total let down.

I get it. You didnât like the ending and you donât have to. The ride was pretty good though and the ending wasnât what some people wanted or expected. Itâs cool

I love vanilla ice cream. My kid loves chocolate. The wife loves that awful green tea ice cream. Are we all wrong in what we prefer and like? Nope, except the wife cause green tea is awful as ice cream!

Really not sure if this is the best thread for my post but⊠I just finished Thor 14 and IMO it suffers from King in Black Syndrome.
I wonât post spoilers in here but man, I wish Cates knew how be consistent with the characters he is writing.
At this point I might just purge the Cates Thor and Venom runs from my collection and keep a copy of Thor 2 & 5 aside just in case.
I am officially unenthused for his next series. My how the mighty have fallen. Is Thanos really his peak?

Not everything you write can be earth-shattering, status-quo changing, and event-worthy. The readership wonât tolerate it.
You also canât just amp stakes higher and high then deflate them in a single issue.

Man I agree. The ending was phoned in so bad, it made me sick. Literally no answers for how this super strong Donald Blake was defeated so easily. He literally tore Asgard apart, went on a murder spree, and just fizzled away.
And his peak is God Country followed closely by Thanos. Everything else starts out amazing, and sputters to whatever conclusion he can throw together
