I was going to say the same thing. The border/edge around the barcode doesn’t look normal but I’d have to also compare another one side by side to really be for sure.

Geez why do people even go through the effort of restoring the book, it wasn’t a high grade but anyway.

Looks like black marker from the staple down but could just be the picture…

Problem with black covers even a black grease pen price written on a black cover they will try and say it’s restoration

the tape placement on this copy of sgt fury #73 is peculiar to me. it’s pretty neat and uniform and precise and also appears underneath the staples. could this be something other than restoration by a very paranoid and meticulous collector? have there ever been occurrences of tape used in manufacturing?
