Ok so now I’m sketched out. If he has an ebay US confirmed address he can just buy it or make an offer (I have BO on), he doesn’t need me to send him an offer. Feels like I’m trapped once I send an offer.
I think you just need to block him. Someone else will come along. Also, take offers off and sell it for $40 bucks.

Why can’t they just have their friend who lives in the US buy it on eBay for them? They can then Reimburse them for it.

I have a message from the same guy. He gave me a low offer on my copy of Nightwing 52b but I ended up selling to another person for $10 more. Messages me on eBay regarding my other copy I have for sale on Mercari that I haven’t put up on eBay yet and again gives me a low offer and story. Gonna add him to my block list now. Thanks.

The saga continues…what would you guys do here?
So I blocked him and stopped responding to him “li-383921” and now noticed that he has taken his profile picture down. Then I wake up this morning and someone from China created a new account yesterday (obviously with 0 feedback) also from China on their profile but has the US delivery address. The name on the new account is female. The address appears to lead to a student dormitory.
He/she bought the Nightwing 52B for the full price of $45 because I took the BO off. I’m 100% positive it’s the same person as last night. I find it highly suspicious that he took his profile picture down after we talked about him here.
What do I do guys? I feel like I have to ship it out and don’t have a choice. I’ve googled ebay’s policy for cancelling orders but appears I will get a strike for that.
If it’s US address… it’s more safe but maybe just tack on the fee to make sure to get a signature for proof of delivery and require the signature.
If it is a verified address I would ship it. It is on him to get it from the dorm to China
I thought about that but I’m not sure if the name on the new ebay account is the same as the person that’s receiving it. Wouldn’t that create an issue? I’m going to sit on it for today and read up on comments on what I should do. I feel like I will have to send it and not really have a choice. I know that you can put into your settings to not sell to any account with say under 5 feedbacks for example but I have so many sales in the past from people with 0 feedback that turn out to be legit.
That is one determined, tunnel vision, “nothing will stop me” individual. For a $45 comic - sheesh.
Doesn’t matter, USPS just wants someone from the address to sign and even taking the “We Missed You” note usually at the USPS counter, just lets anyone who brings it in sign cause that’s the proof you live there (at least I’ve never been asked for ID when I had to go retrieve a package myself). Anyone can sign, just proves it was delivered and you’re off the hook. Now, they could fight eBay but you can prove you did your due diligence and it’s more than likely they side with you.
We know both the USPS and eBay are incompetent most of the time but under the circumstances, it just gives the warm fuzzy feeling of protection and very less likely to lose a comic and the money paid for it… I know I would pay the extra $2 for the signature for peace of mind and likely less hassle going forward.
yeah I think that’s what I’ll do. I think I might even send the buyer a message that she has to sign for it.

I think they’re legit…they just really want the comic. I responded to their message to me and they sounded frustrated about the hassle of buying comics from eBay with a Chinese account. I guess there’s a small community in China on WeChat that collect American Comics. They were frustrated that I sold my last comic to one of their Chat friends with a Japanese Account. They thought I preferred Japanese accounts vs Chinese accounts when the real reason is because the other person offered more money.
If you’re shipping through the international program on eBay, you’re one hundred percent covered. No need for a signature.
