My latest headache is with buyers who can’t be bothered to check their own tracking info. I had at least 4 buyers message me last week asking why they hadn’t gotten their books and not one of them had checked tracking.
I had to screenshot it and send it back to them to show where I shipped it on time and had no idea why the post office was so delayed right now.
If someone sends you an offer on eBay either accept or decline it. Don’t let it sit there for 2 full days. I hate that ebay won’t let you make changes or send any other offers if an item your selling has a pending offer. At least allow the seller to shorten the offer window.
Yeaaa… I’m with you. Accept or Decline.
I will, willingly admit though, there have been times an offer is so outrageous that I get annoyed and don’t bother responding. In hindsight, I know I should be declining, but hey… I’m human
I say accept or counter offer. If you’re just going to decline, why are you accepting offer solicitations to begin with? You want me to keep playing the guessing game? Dumb.
Sometimes I like to wait on an offer cause sometimes, and sometimes more often than usual, someone swoops in and buys it at my BIN price… but I like to keep that offer on hold if it’s a book I’d rather make the sale on than let it sit for too long…
I love when it happens. Makes me kind of snicker at the person making the offer… “should have just bought it” cause normally, I’ve already undercutted everyone else anyways.
Yeah, my favorite one was yesterday with a Batman Fortnite #1. Person offered 75% of asking price with a note that they just wanted the code and not the comic. (1) I’m not selling you the code alone, (2) this’ll sell at asking price anyway, so…
I might sound like a dick saying this but when you make an offer for something and it’s a low ball offer but you throw in a sad sob story (whether it’s a disability, you’re on limited income, etc)… just don’t alright. First of all, I don’t know you and as your story might be true (which I’m sorry if it is), for every true sad sob story out there when buying things at lowball offers, there’s probably 100 stories that are just complete bullshit and made up to try and make others feel guilty.
So make your offer and leave the sad stories in your head as I’m immune to them… I’m gonna base my decision based on my own criteria.
I actually got one the other day. They literally offered $50 because they said they got $50 in credit. Umm… tha’ts nice, I’m not selling my item for $50 just because you got $50 in credit. You gonna have to pay for shipping as well…
Current situation with hotshot comics - asked about a book I ordered in November - sent a message on eBay a couple weeks ago - no response. Never sent a follow up - I sent just one message.
Commented on their IG asking for an update - got blocked.
So, I’ve tried to keep my cool this time and just sent them these messages on IG using another account. I’m just over it. Will keep you guys posted.
Hey eBay pros… could the recent switch from Paypal have anything to do with why I’m unable to find a couple of eBay purchases from late 2020 in my Paypal transaction history?
I decline someone on eBay if after I check their feedback left for others I am sure I don’t want to sell to them. I quickly block and decline. It has saved me some buyers who would have been big trouble.
