eBay Headaches

Alright well, I’m out of my money. Ebay can’t help. Hotshotcomics has ASM 55 1st prints for sale on eBay, yet I never received the copy I ordered and the seller is ignoring me.

Really thought these sort of scams were killed off in the 90s, lol. Oh well.

Scumbag.

Chargeback on your credit card?

Yup, talk to credit card company or Paypal. They usually go up to 6 months or more to dispute charges. If the seller can’t prove they shipped the item with a tracking number associated with the order, they’ll lose. eBay doesn’t care cause they shouldn’t have even allowed the seller to sell them since they’re not abiding by their own rules in pre-sales beyond 30 days…

Can’t believe that eBay allows this guy to operate on their platform. Ridiculous.

Calling chase now.

And I don’t care if he has 99% positive feedback… every feedback on his presales is fraudulent. You will never receive a pre sale before the feedback window expires so these customers are leaving feedback with no product in hand.

Start reporting auctions/listings that can’t physically be fulfilled within 30 days. If more people took action, then it would stop this nonsense. These types of auctions is they’re taking the money to fund the grading ahead of time instead of listing them when they get them back in hand to sell.

Looks like this seller is a real piece of work.
He has a pretty darn significant amount of negatives within the last year and each of feedbacks and subsequent responses are more viscious and condescending than the next.

In fact, one of them states something about the seller not being responsible for poor financial life decisions of the buyer. Kinda funny that an ebay seller would claim to know the financial life decisions of a buyer
I blocked this idiot just now.

Exactly… just an awful person to have to deal with. All of the evidence is in plain site on his feedback page - just look at how he speaks to and treats others. I was extremely polite and respectful when I initially reached out to him but then that changed once I realized what type of person I was dealing with.

He has mastered eBays system though, to the point where it’s quite a lot of work to take down his operation and have him face any consequences. If time wasn’t money I’d drive up to North Carolina this weekend to get my money back, but… gotta pick and chose your battles and this one really ain’t it.

In contrast, I have the same book on an open order with SlabbedHeroes.com.

I just emailed slabbed heroes for an update on my order - 6 months after I placed my order with him - first time that I’ve ever reached out to ask for an update.

I received a thorough response less than one hour later giving me a full rundown on the status of my books and what I can expect going forward.

It’s all I am looking for - a simple response with an update. If you’re operating a business and taking money from people, it’s the least that you can afford them in return.

Yup. Kindness does the world wonders. If you’re annoyed, rude and seem bothered that someone asks a question on a status, then do the world a favor and perhaps jump off a cliff… we don’t need your kind around!

Artist commissions are yet another venture/headache.
Let’s just say that “art” and “business” do not do very well together

Yeah, there’s no way to accurately report HotshotComics to eBay. Ebay’s ‘Report Item’ feature is pretty limited in what information it allows you to submit, and technically, none of the options they have available apply to the situation. Had to basically select the option that was closest. Oh well.

Thanks Ebay.

Yeah thats really frustrating. Sorry man! I wish I could completely cut the tie from ebay, but they still account for quite a bit of my sales. One day…one day…

Yeah, they’re drop down is horrible and or you can’t find the actual option that applies.

I’ve been happy now on Mercari. After dropping eBay at the end of the year last year… never looking back now.

I’m actually just going to have to accept the loss. Chargeback window with Chase Sapphire is 60 days.

The seller knows exactly what he is doing.

:-1: :-1: :-1:

Shocking really. All it takes is a simple response to a message. Gotta give him credit though … he now has $100 of my money and there’s really not a damn thing I can do about it, lol.

No one can help - not eBay, not Paypal, not Chase.

Touche.

This is why I never buy things off eBay if they can’t ship within 30 days… Nope, nope… nope!

Same thing happened with the Thor 5 I preordered from them. Never received mine, but saw them selling multiple copies on eBay because they were going for $100+ It seems that if the book doesn’t spike to over $100 then they send them out. But if the going rate is $100 or more they just sell at the current rate and screw over the people who preordered. I did get my money back but only after publicly blasting them on Twitter.

For a moment I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed that they had some sort of mishap on their end and and honestly forgot about your order @JAndreu … but now the exact same thing that happened to you is happening to me, only they aren’t so keen on refunding me my money as they did with you after we called them out on twitter.
