I’m with you man…I don’t have as many years doing this, but the last 6 weeks I have been averaging over $1000 in payouts per week, and then a lot of those people find me on my actual storefront. Its starting to eliminate ebay altogether, but its going to be a long process that can’t be just turned off tomorrow. I also pay for the store and have seen an increase in followers there as well.
Even a storefront as large as mycomicshop, who has probably thousands of customers going to their website on a daily basis, realizes the value of ebay as they have 100s of thousands of listings. Their website is cheaper, but I’ve made the mistake or purchasing from their ebay listing instead of going to their website to get the lower rate…
I don’t sell a lot actually. Most of the time I had just a handful of items for sale. But lately on Mercari, it’s been pretty easy to offload the “hot” books if I was able to snag them to sell. Spider-Man Unlimited #1 i was selling as fast as I was listing them… (yes, I loaded up many moons ago and now it’s paying off).
eBay is banning adult listings in June for no discernible reason. That may make selling the really risque comics a lot harder for folk. So dumb. No more adult posts after June. Bleh.
Correction: July is the end of Adult listings.
Another correction: An email says June the site says July. So who knows.
@hulkfan1965 i was able to. Did $1800 in sales my first month (I do mostly $20 sales) and $1400 my second month. My eBay sales had dropped down significantly before.
I always thought eBay was vulnerable to having someone come in and eat their lunch, the further they moved from their original, organic, P2P sales model, and started methodically jacking fees, but it hasn’t happened…
I’m not talking about listing, I’m talking about searching. You used to be able to search and filter for Golden, Silver, etc. Now, it’s all just graphic novels
When it comes to eBay competitors we have Ebid, Mercari, Etsy, Poshmark, Bonanza, and some other things. All of those are either kinda smaller and less known or very niche-focused though, besides Mercari, I’d say.
So, I thought I had fixed my listings…but apparently a new issue popped up that I didn’t think I needed to look out for…a lot of my ebay listings somehow have a price of $0… I was really curious why I wasn’t selling anything…now I know why! Ebay thought I should just give my stuff away!
