Yeah I suggest you cancel the order.
If I do can they leave me negative feedback ?
Iād suggest that you ask them if they still want the book at the rate YOU want to ship. Explain that your shipping rate covers shipping + handling + material costs + your transportation + insurance (if any !).
Wait for their reply and then ship if you feel its agreeable.
If they dont agree, I would not ship yet !
One thing is that Ebay has already charged you a Final Value Fee (FVF) based on your sale. Ebay only refunds this fee under certain conditions.
If the buyer does not agree to the shipping, contact Ebay (I actually chat or phone their customer service), explain to them the situation with the response from the customer, and ask them if you could cancel with a FVF refund.
I would still beware of this customer, but his/her messages can definitely help you with any problems down the road. The messages are very helpful, because you tried to work it out with him.
Yes ! You may be able to work with Ebay to remove it, if you can convince Ebay about why you did it.
If they dont respond to your stipulated postage and DONT PAY, you can wait for 4 days (please confirm) and then cancel, and Ebay will refund your FVF automatically for non-payment.
Please also report the buyer here. Thanks !
I was already taking a big loss on the comics, pretty much 50 cents an issue and they were still bi**hing and moaning about the shipping. I normally would not name the person, they might be on here. The name is comic5.
If they had an issue with shipping they shouldnāt of agreed to buy it. I had a deadbeat buyer leo89comics who made an offer that was accepted and never paid or responded to any messages.
Let them be on here. If we got deadbeat buyers as forum members here, letās educate them in why this practice is shitty practiceā¦
Depending on the reason for cancellation, a buyer can leave neutral/negative feedback. Itās best to wait the standard 4 days after the end of the auction and then cancel with the reason being the buyer didnāt pay.
For a non-payment reason, you can have eBay remove any neutral or negative feedback that the buyer might leave.
Not a headache, more of a PSA when you use the Buy It Now option with auctions. You may have known about this, but I didnt and it bit me a little.
From Ebay help :
āWhen someone bids, the Buy It Now option usually disappears; however, in the case of reserve price listings, the Buy It Now option remains until the reserve price is met. In some categories, the Buy It Now option may continue to be available after the first bid for a limited time.ā
Someone bid on my auction (listed for 7 days), and then the Buy It Now option disappeared. I am getting requests now for the Buy It Now price, but since the option has dissapeared now, I have to wait for someone to keep bidding till the end time. May lose out on a higher sale price, as interested bidders will probably go elsewhere.
Never realized this with Buy It Now. Dont understand why both options cant exist together.
Has anyone had an eBay buyer refuse delivery? First time this has happened. No communication from the buyer. I just tracked it to see if I delivered today and it shows as refused.
This is an issue because the ship from address on my labels is a virtual office. Had they requested to return, it would go to my return address which is different. No guarantee Iāll actually get it, but Iāll contact the office space tomorrow. Iām actually going away for a few days on Wednesday so bad timing.
When the Buy It Now option disappears and you get requests for that price, just cancel the auction and relist it.
For anyone interested or encounters this in the future, I spoke w eBay today and they said that when delivery is refused, the buyer no longer has buyer protection and the seller would be covered under seller protection, and any case opened by buyer would be closed in favor of seller.
Iāve spoken to the office space already and Iām not subscribed to mail services but theyāll ātryā to hold the package for me if it arrives. So if I do manage to get the comic back, I will refund the seller minus fees and stuff, but according to ebay itāll be completely optional.
Thanks for that information. I was thinking how in the world do you deal with that. Good stuff!
Just got a return request stating this:
āI first want to start by saying I greatly apologize for any inconvenience. However, this item I will no longer be needing. It will not be gifted as I had initially planned. If I could potentially return this item to you, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time!ā
This was an item set for no returns. Should I accept or deny? Iāve never denied before but this was a total waste of my time.
You can deny it, but youāll probably get a negative feedback.
To me, seems more legit reason to cancel. Maybe they were buying with actual gift intent but realized the person either wonāt like it or already has it, etc. Them starting off apologizing that seems sincere automatically would make it so Iād accept the cancellation.
I denied itā¦ Iāll see what happens.
I would have denied it too, with a nice explanation of having to eat the return postage and the risk of getting back a damaged book. They might be sincere but its a big risk you would have to take, depending on the cost and the book.
If they do neg you, I think their message lends credence to a BAD excuse for a return, especially if you dont accept returns. Hopefully, this message would convince Ebay that the item is not being returned for damage, rather than buyer just changing their mind for no good reason, and that Ebay would reverse any NEG. No guarantees on how Ebay will respond, but so far for me, even though some of Ebays policies are flawed, theyāve taken care of me.
