eBay Headaches

So eBay seriously just removed my Witchblade #10 because it violates their policy on sexually explicit content. I’m free to list Playboy or other Nudie mags but not a superhero comic book intended for teenagers. It contains no nudity or sexual acts. eBay has deemed Witchblade as worse than pornography and unacceptable to the fragile eyes browsing. Not that there’s anything wrong with pornography. But seriously how is it acceptable to list actual pornography but not a super hero book? Yes there’s a lot of Witchblade stuff still listed let’s see if they remove books that anyone could buy. You know they weren’t behind the counter and you didn’t have to prove you’re an adult to buy them. I’m livid.

I’ve had my hot valley days and cocaine nights risqué cover listed without any issues so far.

I sold some book for about $20 the other day. Buyer sent me a message “looks like there are some spine ticks not shown in the listing. What are we going to do about this?”

I calmly replied “You’re free to return it for a full refund. Let me know if you want to proceed with that.”

First of all: bullshit there were spine ticks I didn’t show. I use every available picture (10? 12? I think) when I list and show every flaw up close.

Haven’t heard a damn peep since I offered a return. The guy was fishing for a discount. Call people looking for a baseless discount on their bluffs.

Hate when people do this. It’s happened to me multiple times. Granted, I usually have a stock photo, but still, I would say the majority of the comics I sell are 9.2 or above.

I think the offer of a return and full refund is the best cure. If they are seriously unsatisfied, they’ll take that offer and you’ll have your product back to sell.

If they are bullshitting you, they’ll be pretty quiet almost immediately. How can they argue will a full refund upon return? “No I want to keep this book in lower condition, but lower the price.” That is a pretty unlikely position for a legitimate buyer to take.

I’m always worried that they will damage the book purposedly, and return it, to spite the seller.

eBay got rid of the adult categories and now is being a pain about stuff that isn’t even that adult? What a mess. I see more ACTUALLY adult comics on Etsy now of all places, and Whatnot has been pretty welcoming to them so far (that could always change). I was going to get some Zombie Tramp comics from a friend for cheap possibly and do a cheesecake show full of Zombie Tramp and some other stuff. I am using eBay so much less and less. Mercari I’ve had beef with often too. Whatnot is my favorite for now. If you ever want to sell there holler at me Todd, I can tell you how to apply and junk.

What is risque about Witchblade 10 ? Is there some adult variant ? The cover I see on the web is pretty tame ??

They consider Witchblade sexually explicit material. Facts don’t seem to matter to eBay. I explained it’s a comic book intended for teenagers up. Does it contain scantily clad women? Yes but not anymore than any other comic.

That would include most Zenescope and Avatar books. Weird. I thought that it was just the cover that Ebay was looking at.

The cover in question actually has very little skin showing. It’s just baffling that they allow actual pornography but not a book they’ve deemed inappropriate. Effing baffling. I also find it funny that other listings of the same book are still up for sale. I probably sound paranoid but maybe someone reported it to take a newsstand off the market or because they feel I’ve wronged them somehow. Idk. It doesn’t make any sense.

not ebay related but I bought a book off atomic avenue, my shipping info was correct. Seller ends up putting the wrong label so my book is all the way in Florida and i’m calling usps and their customer service is being completely useless and going in circles talking to the automated system. I’m on hold and hoping this situation is resolved

You shouldn’t be dealing with this if it is the seller’s fault. The seller should be doing all this.

If I did that, I would immediately ship you out a new book. If i didn’t have the book, I would refund you asap. Thats just ridiculous.

Their earnings sucked for the quarter. Great call on their behalf to squeeze a few more nickels from us.

Since the switch, they also include the taxes paid by the buyer when applying the percentage.
