F-you usps šŸ–•

Dang, how does one damage the book inside the slab like that without damaging the slab itself!

USPS Ground Advantage is going up again July 12.

Maybe someone can explain what I’m doing wrong…but this is what I get off usps today…which are higher than the July 12 prices.

I can’t find ā€œcommercialā€ ground advantage…just retail. So is the redit post what eBay/mercari/pirateship charges?

Edit: never mind. Signed in and found commercial pricing. Below is the comparison up to 1 lbs.

It looks like for 1lbs packages (15.9999999999 oz), the price is the same. But they’re eliminating the ā€œdiscountsā€ for smaller packages.

So in some ways you would think this is good for comics…because there will no longer be incentive to skimp on packaging to save on shipping costs…so pack that thing with lots of heavy cardboard up to 1lbs. Most properly shipped comics should land between 10-12 oz… even with media mail there’s no excuse to not add reinforcement up to 1 lbs.

But I also think many people that don’t ship properly are also lazy…so although it should incentivize better practices, it likely will not see any better behaviors.

For those of us who live in the 10-12 oz range…it’s about $1 increase on average ($0.80 to $1.20).

Also think it’s ridiculous to have a different prices at 15.99 oz, 1.00 lbs, and 1.01 lbs. who hits that ā€œmagicalā€ 1.00 lbs?!

Just remove that one extra foam peanut

I dropped 3 packages off at the PO right at closing time on Wednesday. None of them have been scanned as of today. efers.

Never leave without witnessing the scan.

I’m sure they’ll be fine…but that’s my policy after too many ā€œlostā€ packages that were delivered to USPS and never scanned by them.

So apparently once closing time hits they cannot scan anything. The system is unavailable to scan packages. The PO I dropped it off at was useless when I went today. I went to our local hub after that and they said it should be fine and will get scanned at the major hub. I sent a note out to my buyers just to make them aware of the situation, and of course one mouth breather comes back and asks so when will I get it and is it lost. Ugh.

ā€œYep, packages that aren’t scanned right away are automatically dispatched into a black hole and are considered lost.ā€
